The in room telephone has a blinking message light. When you activate it to receive the message there is a recording welcoming you to the hotel and offering to help with services. That is OK, but the light than continues to blink all night!

Pros: The friendless of the staff, and how they helped guests shovel out of their parking places.
Cons: I know they had a restaurant and café in the hotel, but kind of wished they offered some type of a continental breakfast or something.
Location: With 2 ft of snow on the ground, the only thing to really enjoy is the pool and exercise room at the hotel.
The hotel staff was really nice and pleasant. Enjoyed the one meal I had in the restaurant.

Nice Hotel

I stayed here for the Shore Leave Convention at the start of August. The hotel is a lot bigger than it seems. Lots of long corridors. It was nice. Met my expectations. I had always stayed at other hotels in the past partly out of concern noise from the conventioneers would make it difficult to get a good nights sleep. Turns out that was not a problem. Lots of parking, easy access from the highway, and very close to a shopping area with a movie theater AND a Wegman's. Also within about a half mile from the light rail to take you into downtown Baltimore. This is a good place to stay. Definitely be back next year.

Run

This hotel stinks! Literally. The room was musty and smelled of insecticide and the front desk did not care. They said to open a window! The TV did not work. They did not honor our reservation for 2 double beds so we ended up having to get a roll away that was really uncomfortable. To top it off, they have charged us twice for the same room and after reading other reviews, we noticed that this is not the first time they have done this to travelers! Beware!

A decent hotel experience

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
I stayed one night at the Baltimore Marriott Hunt Valley Inn. The front desk staff was excellent. They were willing to give passes to the breakfast buffet for free by just asking about the buffet cost. The hotel itself is a sprawling low structure with a tennis court, indoor and outdoor pool and a very nice patio outside. The room was a standard hotel room. You could tell that it was an older room that had been renovated, but was still in need of another renovation. The room was clean, but nothing very exciting. The bed was not comfortable and when I checked for bed bugs was obviously very old.

The hotel was great. Having been here before I knew what to expect during a large convention weekend.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
The hotel was great. Having been here before I knew what to expect during a large convention weekend. This year it seemed that the HVAC system was struggling to keep up with the rising outside temperatures however, in that there always seemed to be a humidity to the air that you couldn't escape unless you stood directly under an A/C vent.

Do not choose this Marriott

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: Noisy
I tend to choose Marriott's because they have a predictable level of comfort and excellent customer service. This property changed my mind. 1) I was in town for a wedding and 3 months in advance asked for a room with two double beds because I was sharing it with a friend. I checked in and there were none available because there were "so many people with children." 2) There was construction in the parking lot filling the entire hotel with the smell of asphalt, sending me into a asthma attack 3) They gave me a ground floor room 10 feet from the tennis courts, which are brightly lit all night and on the night I was there filled with loud teenagers up all night. 4) There was no maid service. 5) The TV did not work. 6) I found dead insects in the bed and throughout the room (mind you, not bedbugs, but clearly not the cleanest room) 7) After not giving me the room that I needed and had reserved and sticking with an air mattress instead, they tried to make it up to me with complimentary wine and cheese, which was a nice gesture, but then they did not pick up the tray I left outside for another 36 hours. I was in town for a wedding and most of the other guests stayed across the street at the Embassy Suites for the same price. That hotel is dramatically higher quality and I really wish I had read reviews before I had chosen this Marriott. A big mistake!
