Had the best time. Very clean and beach was fantastic. Not much shade but you could rent umbrella for 15 dollars a day. Was well worth it.

The good: the staff, the beach, the property, the drinks, the cleanliness, the service, etc etc. Not one complaint about how gorgeous it was or how clean or how accommodating and polite every single staff member was. Everyone worked very hard to provide the best service possible and we were happy. The bad: the food was pretty awful. I get that it’s hard to provide different styles of food for such a large and varied circulation of guests, but when even the tacos are so-so…come on. Anyway, the Steakhouse wasn’t bad, and the buffet was hit or miss. The Italian was bad. Kyoto’s was not good. Room service was terrible. The American Bar was also meh. Pepe’s was ok in a pinch, but overall, all things edible were super disappointing unless it was fruit or pastries. All that being said, I didnt realize how important food is on vacation, and anyone here praising the food is obviously a rube who has never had a decent meal.

The place is beautiful! Spotless, rooms are great, beach is awesome and the water perfect for swimming. The staff is ten out of ten. They work hard to make your experience enjoyable. My only complaint was the food. Not so great. We did the buffet, the Steakhouse, Kyoto,l Italian, the American Bar, and Pepe's. All of it was disappointing. But to be fair, its probably hard to offer so many different varieties of food and make it amazing.

This is by far the best vacation that we have ever had. We completely enjoyed all of the various restaurants and even room service. However, the room service menu does need to be expanded a bit. It is very limited, but a nice cup of coffee on the balcony is lovely in the morning...

We had a room on the south outward looking side of the resort, the views of the mountains and sunrise were amazing ( 6th floor), the city at night and the bay looking south to the mountains there too. There was some construction going on next door but honestly was more entertainment that anything, heard more noise from it getting massages on the beach, but therapist worked to the rhythm of the noise !!

Facilities were clean, food was sub par an unimpressive. Pools were to hot at 95 and party pool was closed for two days. Riu white party was advertised but found out that the sister hotel that held the party was closed. We will not be going back to the Riu Palace.

My favorite thing about this resort was their staff. Cris was the first person I encountered and she was the sweetest. My sister has gestational diabetes and she took the time to make her a natural sugar free lemonade. My sister looked for her all weekend and she was always happy to make her the lemonade. The following people were amazing to our party of 6, Carlos at the buffet bar Jacki and Rio at Guacamole Lalo, Wilbur, Maribel, & Polo down at the pool bars Nelson at the lobby bar. We were bummed we didn't have access to the club and pool parties next door due to remodeling but overall great first experience at a resort.
