I am so grateful to have found this local hotel so close to lots of good food, beer and music. The staff were so friendly and I could tell they loved their job. Our room was gorgeous and felt like our own little getaway. I would highly recommend staying here instead of the hotel chains in town.

Best in Asheville

This beautiful boutique hotel has become our reliable place to stay in Asheville. Even if it wasn’t so good, the location is perfect for our family. Think art deco with southern hospitality.

I booked a room at Dearest Zelda for 3 nights and had high expectations. Before arriving, I even called ahead and was told we’d be given drink tickets since it was my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When we returned to our room one evening, a lady approached us and said, “Are you in Mystic? Yeah, I need that room now, we have guests checking in.” When I explained that we had the room reserved, she only replied, “Let me check on that,” with no apology. Both my husband and I found her extremely rude. They then turned off our hotel keys and said they’d bring replacements to the room, which never happened. My husband eventually had to go to the front to retrieve them himself. On the positive side, the two men working in Rosalind could not have been kinder or more helpful. Unfortunately, overall service was a 2/10 at best. This is not really a hotel—it feels more like an upscale Airbnb. There is no proper staff, and for the price, it’s absolutely not worth it. The rooms themselves are gorgeous, but they’re not well insulated—you can hear other guests clearly. To make things worse, one guest left dirty, wet socks and shoes outside their door for the entirety of their stay, which really detracted from the atmosphere. In summary: this is a beautiful property but very overpriced for what you get. I would not recommend it if you’re looking for actual hotel-level service. At best, it’s an exceptional Airbnb—not an upscale hotel.

This hotel is amazing! It is in a great location with parking. They offered complimentary pastries from a local bakery for breakfast. The room was spacious, clean, and had essentials like a steamer, q-tips, hair dryer, and robes. I also love how the hotel is decorated in the art deco style. There is a really cute courtyard in between the buildings that had fire pits and seating. All of the staff that we encountered were so nice. Even the maintenance/grounds staff that we ran into asked how our stay was. We can’t wait to stay here again in the future!

Believe the hype

Hands down the most impressive hotel in Asheville. Our suite should have cost two to three times what we paid. The room/furnishings/service were all top notch. I was hesitant to believe all the positive reviews before we booked-believe the hype. This place is a hidden gem.

Great property. A wonderful boutique hotel. Rooms are spacious. With relatively new management there are bugs have to be worked out. The office needs someone available full time. Rooms have a refrigerator but no microwave. The one in the dining area is difficult to operate. The dining area could use better variety of cold cereals and fruit. It is a longish walk from parking lot to rooms but staff is willing to help. We particularly had good service,from Ignes and Jake. We wil, return again.

Incredibly Cool Place To Stay

Zelda is the only place we stay in Asheville. The rooms are cool, the breakfast is excellent, and the staff is wonderful (special shoutout to Jake, who brought us a bottle of whiskey sours for our anniversary. You’re a real one, Jake). Tons of breweries, restaurants, and shopping within walking distance, too. Highly recommend staying here!
