The Union Station is an amazing building very close to down town Nashville. Staff was super friendly and the lobby and room were very clean and beautifully decorated. Valet parking was very convenient, they also have a self-parking option. My kids were disappointed about no pool. It would have been nice to offer complimentary breakfast, or at least coffee. Overall enjoyed our stay very much and would highly recommend this hotel.

Love the building and architecture, but they removed all seating in the lobby for a large event. They also canceled all dining for the other guests and the event's entertainment went til late which all above ground guests could clearly hear in their rooms. We had to leave due to the lack of dining options and noise, and wait to return until late once it was over.

Historic icon with hipster twist

I first visited Union Station in 1973 as a 13-year-old to catch a train to Chicago. Pigeons flew through the grimy barrel-vaulted great hall, and Amtrak, with its tiny offices and waiting room, were the only other occupants of the huge building. The 1st incarnation of the station as a hotel was a traditional restoration paying homage to the building's railroad pedigree. The rooms were luxurious and common areas impressive. The latest makeover has largely cast aside the railroad theme for a more timely bid to modern (and local) pop culture. The station's original train arrival and departure board has lost its spot behind the front desk to an oversized sculpture of a beatnik, replete with Wayfarers. The 5th floor still has its 15 foot ceilings, but our room featured a huge light fixture made from fencing wire and several bare light bulbs. The rooms are large and clean and comfy, as are the bathrooms. The lobby bar features an innovative and well-executed cocktail menu. The staff is wonderful. I'll get used to the decor, I guess.
