Grinning Bear Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The photos on the listing simply can't do it justice—it is even more beautiful in person.Although the lodge sleeps up to 14 guests, it was just my husband, our dog, and me during this stay, and it was the perfect mountain retreat. We were especially impressed by how pet-friendly the property is. The hosts provided a puppy pack with dog bowls, mats, treats, and toys, which made our dog feel just as welcome as we were.The thoughtful amenities throughout the lodge made packing much easier. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, s'mores ingredients, and well-stocked kitchen essentials were all provided, along with many other conveniences that made our stay comfortable and stress-free.We spent our days cooking, soaking in the hot tub, playing games on the arcade table, relaxing by the fire, and hiking nearby trails. One of our favorite parts of the trip was watching wildlife from the lodge—we saw chipmunks and elk wandering around outside every day.This was one of the most relaxing mountain getaways we've ever had. Whether you're planning a romantic retreat, a family vacation, or a trip with friends, Grinning Bear Lodge is an incredible place to stay. We would absolutely return, both as a couple and with a larger group in the future.
