Found some cracker pieces next to the bed... They weren't ours. Room picks up a lot of evening outside traffic and noise. Staff super nice and friendly.

This hotel is awful - the pictures belie reality. It is NOT well maintained, maid service is non-existent (they even tell you not to expect daily cleaning), the rooms are dingy and smelly. The AC unit in our room was loud, smelly and sputtery - blowing right across our faces at night, the air made us sick. The health department should probably inspect. The AC unit in the room above us leaked into our room, and it was obvious that it wasn't the first time that had happened. There were no other rooms available, so no option to move. It's located in a noisy part of town, where bar patrons spill out into the street at all hours, fighting and yelling. There was a drag race in the middle of the night, two nights in a row. Avoid this hotel, the owners (a cruise line?) have completely given up on this property - they don't use the restaurant except to offer stale, dry bread and muffins in the morning. I don't like to leave negative reviews, but our experience was truly that awful, so I hope to spare others, especially since it's so expensive.

Street noise unbearable. Old sliding glass door that won’t lock. No sound proofing at all. Charged $40 to park in a dirty unkept lot. Room should have only been $40 for the condition and location it is in.

Arrived to find the lobby full of police dealing with an off-duty hotel employee so drunk they were incoherent. At check-in we were told their key card machine was down and another hotel employee had to accompany us to our room to open the door. It was late at night so we didn’t leave the room until morning but we never did receive a key so I’m not sure how that was ever going to work. The hotel itself was mostly clean but on the shabby side. Shower noise from the bathroom above us was pretty unbearable. We immediately canceled the remainder of our stay and found a new place.

Place had good value for the money. Check in... a little delayed had a lobby full of people waiting for the go time of 330 pm. Didny get that part. If a room is open let people check in already. The kept the luggage and brought it to us when we needed it but it would be a little simpler to get people in their room. Keeping people in the lobby waiting makes it appear of staff incompetence.

The WestMark in downtown Anchorage is much better than the other reviews would imply. This hotel was no frills, but a perfectly good hotel for a fair price. Would absolutely stay here again.
