Gorgeous Pacific Northwest Retreat

The Kingfisher Cove Hideaway was the perfect setting for our return to the Whidbey area after 40 years!  The combination of the views, natural setting, privacy, and amenities were without compare!  We highly recommend this property!

relax in a nature setting

If you need to just get away for a couple of days to be in nature, this is your place. I left the feeling and vibe of my home city behind immediately. Quickly joined the energy of being on the water and in nature. There are easy viewpoints and hikes to go on if you like. I loved running across the deception pass bridge! It was a thrill. Explire Anacortes and just breath deeply and chill.

Gorgeous apartment, gorgeous view.

We had a perfect vacation. Beautiful, modern, equisitely appointed wfficiency appartment overlooking Deception Pass waterway. Very clean, nicely furnished, with kitchen, dishwasher and laundry. King size bed quite comfy, and waking up to fantastic view through a wall of floor to ceiling windows was incredible. Owners even thought to provide perfect, blue sky weather for almost every day of our stay. We came for Tulip Festival in mid-April and got lucky, catching tulips in full bloom just towards end of their run. Takes about 29 minutes ro get there or to to get up to Anacortes town center from here. Location might be a bit distant, but the benefit in beauty, quiet and solitude is worth it. While the homes around here are fairly packed in, its still a very quiet, semi-rural residential neighborhood.

Perfect place for a little R&R.

Clean, snug and comfortably furnished studio in a gorgeous, very quiet and peaceful setting. Easy to get to and a short drive to old town Anacortes and La Conner for really good restaurants, galleries/museums and shops, plus hiking in Washington Park and areas around Deception Pass. This is a terrific place to relax and chill for a long weekend. We would love to stay here again in the future.

Kingfisher Cove Hideaway

We absolutely loved everything about our three day stay at Kingfisher Cove. The accommodations were beautiful and the setting was amazing. We were a little concerned about the 4:00 check in time but they notified us early in the day that we could check in earlier. A check out time later than 10:00 would have been appreciated as well.

A new favorite getaway location

It was wonderful to wake up and see the sunrise over the water view. The place was so cozy without feeling cramped. The was perfect for us. The construction and quality of the property was very high end. We will be back.

Construction Noise

The houses on both sides were under construction One house was cutting tile and the high pitched loud sawing noise was just unacceptable A little construction noise is acceptable but this was a very high pitched screaming noise that was just unbearable

Fancastic high-end get-away

The property is fantastic. Full stop. New, clean, high-end property with million dollar views. The property is perfect. My complaint is with Vacasa (the vacation booking site used). I was apprehensive because of the late check-in (4 PM) and the early check-out (10 AM). I picked the site specifically because of the large picture windows and amazing view. Knowing that it gets dark at 4:30 PM (literally 30 minutes after check in) I called the Vacasa agents to ask if I could pay an upgrade fee for an early check-in or late check-out. I was told that both were not options that were offered… BUT, I could book an extra night so that I could have more daylight time. I hesitated because I would be spending more than $500 for basically a day and a half, but I went ahead and booked 2 nights (knowing I would show up at 11 AM on day 2). The day before I received an email, telling me I could purchase a late check-out for only $35! And then, I received a text, telling me that the property was available for an early check-in (more than 4 hours early for no additional cost). So, basically I threw away over $200 for an additional day on this booking because I was told those things were not available. In my opinion, this is either horrible internal communication and coordination… Horrible customer service at best and a deceptive practice at worst.

Great property… few lights burned out & all the candles didn’t work. A stereo would be great & the outside fireplace made a loud clicking noise so we chose not to use.

We had both rain and some sun while visiting and the views were so stunning the entire time. The place was very clean, open and cozy! Kitchen is stacked with supplies and the bed was beyond comfortable!!!

What's Not in The Pictures

OK - so you are looking at the pictures and thinking, 'Wow, how beautiful is that?' But what the pictures don't show you is you, falling asleep in those red chairs...for hours...and your blood pressure dropping to 90 over 58. 'oooh..ahhhh' - sure, but whatebout an image of a couple sitting in those red chairs on the third day with Zillow up on their laptop searching for property and houses in the area - thinking about chucking it all in and moving to the neighborhood. "The bed looks cozy,' you're thinking. It is, ok, but it doesn't show a picture of you waking up in it, looking out at deception pass and wondering, ' I wonder what the annual rental rate is. Maybe, if I sell everything, I could make an offer to the owners to sell me just this little spot. Not the whole house, just ...this.' The pictures don't show any of that (or the bathroom and laundry room, which are both awesome by the way). They don't show the surrounding property with dozens of hidden gems in the garden, or the slate bench down the path to the water where you will stare at the water, and watch the harbor seals sleep on the dock next door. And the pictures don't show you ...you...saying "noooooo!" as you look on this website and note that you have to leave because someone else has the place for your checkout day. Anyway - listen to me. You don't know me, but trust me on this one. What you want to do is to not think "how long do we want to stay here" and start thinking, "how long can we stay here?" You want all of those days. Sincerely, had we known what wasn't in the pictures we would have changed every plan before and after this spot, and just stayed here....and changed our flight for the extra days. Stop looking, you fool. You have to stay here.

Perfect Vacation Rental

You won't regret staying - beautifully appointed vacation property with a stunning view, beautiful grounds, and peaceful location while be conveniently located for exploring Anacortes, Whidbey, or the San Juans. We say eagles, seals, birds, and squirrels. The flowers around the property add pops of color and are so pretty. We rarely stay at a place more than once because we like the variety of trying something new. This place would be an exception. When we are back in the area, we would definitely stay here again. The place is magical.
