The Fox Den is the perfect cabin for a couples get away near Breckenridge CO.

The Fox Den is a 1-bedroom 1-bathroom cabin nestled away in the high alpine mountains at 11,200 ft on 1.17acres of land on a quiet dead end dirt road. Once there, you will have many opportunities to view wildlife (moose, fox, elk, deer or even a bear) . The cabin is cozy and warm with great views, a fully equipped kitchen with great tasting well water and a comfortable living room. It also has a deck with great views, and a grill for all of your outdoor cooking pleasures.
The Fox Den has close access to many 14ers, hiking, skiing, biking, fishing, gold panning, 4 wheeling, golf or just about any outdoor activity you may be interested in during any season.
The town of Breckenridge and ski area are located 30 minutes north with all the amenities that a world class ski town has to offer. Such as restaurants, bars, shops, grocery store ect...
The town of Fairplay is located about 10 minutes south and offers restaurants, bars, shops, grocery store ect…
The town of Alma is also located about 5 minutes south and has a well stocked country store, restaurant/bar, and liquor store.
All these towns have great history with museums, great vistas and many outdoor activities in sunny Colorado.

Other things to note
**** The Fox Den is located up a dirt road with many switch backs. You will need 4wd with snow tires and possibly chains to get tao the cabin October through May.
The cabin is at a high elevation, if you have concerns about altitude sickness it may not be a good place for you to stay.
There is no cell phone service at the Fox Den, to make phone calls you will need to hook up to the wifi and use wifi calling me

We loved this little cabin. Bed was comfy, kitchen was great, and location to Brek was good. Distance to Brek was about 30 min and Keystone is about 50 min without it snowing. Location is beautiful and the woodstove heater sets the perfect ambiance. If you have a dog coming, suggest bringing an extra cheap door mat for them to enter the house over. The porch has a grate to keep snow from collecting at the door with a mat over it but our 50 lb dog always seemed to decide she would rather walk on bare metal than a comfy rug. Her legs fell through multiple times and we're happy she didn't break anything trying to get out. Host is super friendly and quick to respond. If it's available next season, we're definitely going to come back!

Love this cabin in the woods. Seen foxes and many other wildlife. The fire place is just stunning. Big kitchen space. Cozy warm living room and bedroom. Highly recommended to anyone looking to do snow sports at Brek or if you’re just needing time away from the city.

The host Heather was absolutely awesome! We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was everything we wanted and yes, we did see plenty of foxes all around the area. There was a pretty major storm that rolled through during our stay and the host made sure we were completely taken care of and responded promptly and personally took care of any and all questions or problems that arose. I recommend to everyone to book a stay here!

The views were beautiful. The cabin was cozy and felt like a home away from home. We especially loved the fire place. The subtle glow of the fire place made the whole stay even better. We saw a few foxes which tied the entire weekend together! Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Nice small cabin that is great for a couple. I do wish the traffic noise from the highway was not as prominent, if you are inside you do not hear it but outside it is very noticeable. We had a great 40th anniversary at the cabin.

Cabin is perfect for 2. Located at the Base of Mt Lincoln. Convenient for access to Quandary and Democrat/Cameron/Lincoln/Bross (DeCaLiBron) - Wheeler Lake Trail is nice for an easier hike.
