Artisanale Homes are ready to rent holiday homes. We currently have 4 Artisanale homes in Goa, named after the quaint villages they are located in and all listed here on this site. We have Artisanale Saligao, Colvale, Benaulim and Aldona. Each home is unique and has its own old-world charm.
The space
Artisanale Aldona, took us about 3 years to restore. We worked on the compound wall and the outdoor garden for a while, which was eroding into the fields opposite. We arrested the run off, by creating a multi-level garden around the house. We are keen that long term guests, take up to gardening and their own vegetables around. We do have a cashew tree, a Rita tree, bimbli, mango and coconut tree and a couple of pineapple saplings, on the property .
We have a large balcony which is shaded, private and looks into the multi level backyard of the house. It is apt for lounging with your pet, or as a great outdoor workspace. You constantly hear birds and most definitely will not see or be disturbed by other people walking around, as this area is not frequented by anyone or visible from the road. If you do have a larger group of friends over or a quiet meeting you can use the covered gazebo on level 1. A little kitchenette is attached to the gazebo. The kitchenette can be stocked with your personal knick-knacks, microwave, water kettle, and few cups and plates for quick service. Adjacent to the kitchenette is toilet with a western commode. We also have an outdoor shower for little kids to enjoy or wash and dry your four legged.
Inside the house, we start with the living room, which is oblong cross ventilated, and ideal for the entire family to get together. The 2 doors on either side lead directly into the bedrooms. Each of the bedrooms are ACed and have large attached bathrooms. Our ceiling to floor closets are in the bathroom. We have a wet and dry area in the bathroom. Our plumbing is all in order, with no leakages or dripping pipes. Our bathrooms have their respective overhead 5 litres water heaters.
The kitchen becomes quite the central point of the house. The dining table, being large tends to double up as a work space for most. We have a 230 litre refrigerator, microwave, water kettle, toaster, front load washing machine, water filter 4 burner gas area and 2 cylinders, all in mint condition loaded in the kitchen. We have the required 24 set spice jars and fridge storage containers all stored away under our platform counter. We have tableware for 6 and all required non stick pots and pans with the relevant ladles for cooking. We are very careful that we do not allow for burning or misuse/ scratch our kitchenware. We have various cleaning liquids, sponges, disposal bags and such, carefully put away for usage as and when required.
We have a perennial spring well attached to the house, which pumps water to the storage container above and used to water the garden.
The house has a 1KVA power inverter which gives you a 4 hour backup at the best case. It is well maintained. If you do drain the battery by plugging in a high motor device when the power is out, you will be held liable for the damages. The internet line is a dedicated optic fibre cable, the best in the area, from a franchise who is very prompt and lives in the area. Currently we have a wifi 150 MBPS line which can be scaled up, as and when required.

Here is a check list of what is available in the house:
1. Linen/ towels/ hand towels: Yes. Provided and included in the rental for short stays less than 1 month.
2. Internet: Yes, an unlimited download, wifi broadband upto 150 mbps line throughout the house. The rental is included for short stays below 1 month.
3. Basic Toiletries: Yes. Provided and included in the rental for short stays below 1 month.
4. Smoking: Allowed in the garden.
5. Garbage disposal: We have dry and wet waste bins. Wet waste is disposed on the property and dry waste is collected by the panchayat on certain days.
6. Parking: A Village Road is available for parking
7: Conveyance: Absolutely required to have your own transport to move around
8. Appliances available: refrigerator, toaster, washing machine, 4 burner gas stove, iron & ironing board, water heaters in the bathrooms, water filter
9. Electricity bills to be paid as per usage for stays longer than 1 month.
Other things to note
Please note that for stays 1 month and longer, the following extra costs are applicable per month. The costs include the below
1. electricity about INR 2000 with AC as per usage
2. Internet about INR 2000 at 100 MBPS
3. Housekeeping about INR 8000 per month for 3 hrs per day
