I love this place. Quiet. Easy to get to. Nice pool. But this time (my second stay) the deadbolt didn't work on the door. The carpet was ripped in a few places. The tub/shower didn't seem clean. There was hair on the little couch. Still, I slept well.

Darn it! We are working hard to catch up on another round of improvements. We'll be attacking the room you were in shortly. I can vouch for clean; we probably had some wear and tear that looked like dirt. I would eat off any floor our housekeepers cleaned. Visit again; we'll re-earn your love!

Front desk personnel were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Room was clean and a decent size. The only problem was the noise from the road and sirens. I would stay here again.

It felt like an old hotel that has been renovated. The rooms and exterior were very nice. But it looks like, at least in our room, that they have not been able to renovate that bathroom yet.

Didn't care for them making a copy of my Drivers License at checkin, have they heard of identity theft before?? Also a $50.00 "deposit" that isn't a "pending" charge on your credit card, but an actual charge that you have to sign for and hope they are honest enough to actually REFUND the $50.00. What is the deposit for, there are no amenities for it to cover and they charged my card before I even arrived so they have the CC number on file anyhow!
We try to stay at the smaller/Mom & Pop places to support them, but I can't say we'd stay here again. Was convenient enough for the one night as we were at the Fair Grounds most of the night anyhow. Nothing special about the room and they could use some work on the "black out" shades, which weren't so much as the light from outside shinned around them.
The biggest problem was the PIGEONS! They must have a nest on the roof as we could hear them inside the room! I thought they were in the closet!! They know about the problem as when I mentioned it to the girl at checkout, she said "Yeah, I know, we don't know what to do about that". So, if you don't mind getting up early this won't bother you but don't plan on sleeping in until checkout time.

We appreciate your stay. The deposit is pending; I'm guessing you saw what looked like a charge on your DEBIT card. We pre-authorize, so we can easily release the next day. As for the DL, paperwork is shredded on a regular basis, We have to take a copy for a few reasons: faster check-in, since we can capture the guest data while you relax; also, we can identify the guest that is supposed to be in the room. It's quite common. As for pigeons, I could go on and on. I truly apologize. This Mom and Pop owner has spent precious dollars on mitigation. We had them under control, but apparently they're trying new tricks, We'll keep after the stubborn pests. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.
