"Perfect Getaway!"
Everything about Loew's was just wonderful! Every staff member greeted us, no matter what time of day! We did not have a car, so the parking fee was not an issue for us. We took advantage of the shuttle to Coronado almost every day. We walked to the beach to watch the sunset each night. It was an extremely relaxing getaway! I would highly recommend this hotel!

"Hotel With Character"
I'm surprised there are not more positive reviews for this hotel. Not ordinary in any way. Many large suites are available that feel like spacious apartments. Hotel is laid out like a Mexican market place with the rooms surrounding the open air market on the inside. All of the restaurants within the hotel have excellent food with friendly prompt service even when busy. The rooms are private and in most cases have private stair ways. Our suite had a balcony over looking the market and high windows with a partial beach view which was a nice touch. The hallway and living room had hardwood floors. The only carpet was in the bedroom. We are very glad we found this place, since it rescued us from the typical cookie cutter hotel with a hefty price tag. The only negative was the lack of updating throughout the suite. Countertops, tiles and fixtures were quite dated although they worked fine and were kept very clean. I noticed they were remodeling another suite near our's so it appears they are working on this. Overall, highly recommended.

"Great Hotel on Coronado"
We were extremely impressed with our stay at the Coronado Beach Resort. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The very reasonably priced accommodations were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Just a short walk to the beautiful beach, close to fine restaurants, and near a trolley stop for transportation into San Diego. Highly recommend this resort based on price, location, and staff.

"Great Value in the Heart of Coronado Beach Area"
This is an older hotel/motel but VERY clean. Very friendly staff. It was too cold for us to utilize the pool based on the time of year but the pool and the facilities are very nice and clean. The pool did get plenty of sun throughout the day if you wanted to sun bathe. There were some bumps and bruises easily spotted on the tub in our room that were patched up in a different color than the tub but the room was very immaculate. The bed was a bit too firm for our liking. It is not the Del Coronodo, which I have stayed at in the past but I just couldn't see spending five times the cost for a simple king room there when we could use that money to explore all the great things Coronado and the San Diego area has to offer including drinks and the fabulous food venues. You can literally walk out the front of the hotel and see The Del Coronado to your left so it was an easy walk over the beach and the grounds of the Del. We had a rental car that literally sat in our parking place for 2 days as it was not necessary for this location as everything was in a short walking distance including several great restaurants. We took a stroll each morning to Starbucks which was a just a few blocks up on Orange Ave and there was a Walgreen's directly across the street from Starbucks in case you needed any snacks for the beach or sundries. I would definitely recommend this location to friends and family when visiting Coronado Beach that are looking for a nice affordable stay!

    Coronado Hotel Guide

Welcome to Coronado, California, also known as the "Crown City." This resort city sits on a stretch of pure white sand across San Diego Bay from the city of San Diego. Coronado hotels have been popular since the late 1800s, with movie stars, politicians, and regular folk alike. Take advantage of this golden climate with moderate temperatures and sunny skies year-round by jumping on one of the many flights to San Diego and heading across the bay to Coronado.

    Out and About in Coronado

Coronado is nearly an island, connected to the mainland through a thin land bridge called the "Silver Strand." Because of its climate and its proximity to San Diego Bay, Coronado vacation packages are popular. The beach areas are flat – you can easily run or walk barefoot through miles of bright white sand, passing hotels in Coronado as you go. During your run, you may see the hull of a sunken ship if you come by at low tide. If you prefer your fun out on the water, choose from surfing, boat tours, and jet skiing. Why not take a standing paddleboard lesson? It's all the rage. For a more relaxed experience, sign up for a gondola ride that glides through the cays. Or jump on a harbor tour and marvel at the sparkling San Diego coastline from the water.

    Eating and Drinking

Due to its proximity to Mexico, locals love the wide selection of Mexican food popular in the region, including fish tacos, carne asada fries, and enchiladas. Stroll down Orange Avenue in the downtown district. Before a theater show, get some authentic wood-fired California pizza. Healthy eaters will love the selections of fresh fruits and vegetables, including olives, pomegranates, strawberries, and melons. Wash it all down with a local wine or some sweet apple cider that's produced on nearby mountains on the mainland. There is a wide variety of hotels on Coronado for every budget, and Travelocity can help you save up to $537 when you book your hotel and flight at the same time.
