"Great deal in Downtown Los Angeles!"
The Ritz Milner in my opinion is one of the best deals in downtown Los Angeles. My main reason is because it is extremely close to the 7th Street/Metro Center station which basically connects you to all major trains and subways in L.A. (Yes L.A. has subways!). I stayed here with my fiancée due to a beer crawl that was happening downtown and I did not feel like driving home. The building is old but charming in my opinion and can look rundown a bit. However don’t let that deter you from here. The front desk staff was not friendly but not rude either. I am not complaining but just do not expect it to be all cheerful like a bigger hotel. I was given a room on the 8th floor and to me it was very small. However since I was only going to use the room to just sleep, it was not a big issue. If you are planning to stay there for several days then maybe a bigger hotel would be your choice. There is a window AC which was super cold and it was awesome due to the current California heat wave. As far as the bathrooms go, they were tiny. The shower stall was probably 3 feet by 2 feet. However, it didn’t really bother me and am just stating it so readers would know. There is a free continental breakfast in the lobby however I did not partake since we went out and about very early. Overall I would definitely stay here again and would recommend others to go as well.

    "Great Location, Great beds!"
We had such a great time, the hotel rooms were quaint and clean. The beds are super! Location is everything, and the location of this hotel is perfect. We were able to walk through China Town, to the Wharf and all along the piers. Just a short distance to AT&T Park to watch a game. The food in the little diners was awesome and plentiful. We had a great time!!

    "Great hotel in Union Square"
We celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary by spending a weekend in SF. At check-in, the attendant upgraded us to the Emperor's Level with a city view. Awesome! The hotel room was clean, comfy bed. The Emperor's Level lounge was great (free continental breakfast and daily wine and cheese reception). The hotel was central to shops, restaurants, BART station, Powell cable car line.

    "Great for Comic-Con"
I booked this hotel for Comic-Con 2013, and I was very happy with it. It was about a 3 minute walk from the train station and was right next to one of the Con's shuttle stops. The convention center was also within walking distance as was the Gaslamp Quarter (city blocks in San Diego are much smaller than other cities). They have a restaurant onsite that we had breakfast at every morning and the food was yummy. There's a 7-11 around the corner, and a bagel place and Italian restaurant across the street. The staff at the restaurant and the front desk were very friendly. Having shared bathrooms was not a problem, and they would only open with your room key, so we never had to worry about people walking in from the street to use the restroom. Also, each bathroom is lockable, so if someone puts their key in while you're inside, it won't open. Some bathrooms are full baths while others only have a toilet and sink. We stayed on the 3rd floor and counted about 12 bathrooms total. Be warned that the showers are a little dingy, but decent. As for the rooms, they are small and the carpets definitely need to be replaced. It's quite noisy with all the traffic outside. But if you're going for Comic-Con, you aren't going to spend a lot of time in the room anyway! The bedding was clean and there were no bedbugs as some other people mentioned. Towels were given to us every day, but we didn't always get washcloths. Our room was at the corner of the building, so we had 2 windows that opened to let fresh air in, as there is no A/C. Our room also had a small desk, a wardrobe with a few hangers, a folding chair, a fridge, a celing fan, and small TV that had a lot of channels. It was the perfect size for myself and my niece. I would love to stay here again next year!

"Comfortable stay, nice location, great experience"
I stayed at the Grand Hyatt last week during a conference and was very glad to chose this hotel. The hotel is very updated and the lobby is very impressive and "grand" upon arrival. The staff is very friendly and pleasant. My room was very comfortable and had a great view looking out to the bay. I only dined at the hotel once for breakfast, however the buffet was great. I enjoy running while traveling, and this hotel was in a great location to do so. There is a nice boardwalk in back of the hotel that goes through a park, through some shopping areas, and along the harbor. The Gaslamp area is a pretty easy walk as well, so plenty of restaurants and bars available. I would definitely stay here again.

    "Loved Sofia!!"
This is a lovely old building where the guest rooms have been totally remodeled. The bathroom in my queen room, while small with just a shower, was modern and immaculate. Bottled water and coffee was provided in the room along with a microwave and refrigerator. I've read reviews that say that the rooms are small, which they are, but I found them small cozy, not small cramped. Probably the best valued hotel I've ever stayed in, and would definitely stay again. Only complaint is the mandatory "guest fee" for internet access; I always feel that this cost should be rolled into the room rate and not included as an add-on.
