Our newest wide-body passenger aircraft debuts internationally when it arrives at New York’s JFK
International Airport from a 14-hour flight from Beijing on January 7, 2015.
The four-cabin aircraft has 12 luxury suites in the Forbidden Pavilion first class cabin, 54 fully-flat seat to bed sleepers in the Capital Pavilion business class cabin, 66 premium economy seats and 233 in the economy cabin for a total of 365 seats.
The sculpted ceiling on board Air China’s B747-8i offers a warm, relaxing space that conveys earth and sky in a natural flow. The dynamic LED lighting features a variety of colors to simulate natural lighting form sunrise to sunset, making one truly feel at home in the sky. New larger pivot bins provide ample storage space for every passenger.
Air China is the Asian launch carrier of Boeing’s newest and biggest 747. It is the first Chinese carrier to operate the B747-8 Intercontinental.
Air China has double daily services between JFK and Beijing (PEK). It is the only carrier with nonstop service between these two cities. The B747-8i operates as a daily service starting January 7, 2015. The remaining frequencies are operated by B777-300ER.

The service is available for travels originating from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, New York and Vancouver and transiting in Beijing to domestic cities in China. Boarding passes and baggage tags must be obtained at the point of origin.
