Pine Shadow Lodge near Mt. Hood - Modern & Stylish

PINE SHADOW LODGE is a modern, stylish & spacious cabin nestled in the woods on 2+ acres in the Village of Welches, only minutes from skiing, golfing, hiking, and mountain biking. With five bedrooms and multiple living spaces, Pine Shadow Lodge is perfect for families and groups looking for a relaxing mountain escape. Yes, we are dog-friendly!

The Lodge:

With a warm, modern aesthetic, Pine Shadow Lodge has everything you need for a fun and relaxing mountain getaway. The Lodge has plenty of room for groups of up to 16 people, and is a perfect place for several families to gather together. Four of the five bedrooms are on the main floor; the fifth bedroom is upstairs, and has a private en suite bathroom. One of the main floor bedroom has two bunk beds (lower bed being a double) and works well for 4-6 kiddos. Another main floor queen bedroom is tucked away next to the TV room; it offers greater privacy. The king bedroom is massive, with a gas fireplace, leather sofa with pull-out bed, and a soaking tub.

Pine Shadow Lodge has over 3,000 square feet of interior space, with multiple living areas for larger groups. The main living room has a large leather sofa, Fluance record player, and wood stove; perfect for sipping a cocktail after a long day of hiking or skiing. The second living room has a 65" 4K TV (YouTube TV subscription provided; most streaming apps already installed) and, a highlight for kids of all ages: a Ms. PacMan arcade game!

The primary kitchen is fully stocked for large groups, with everything you need to cook a feast. The adjacent dining area has a massive table with benches, and easily seats 12-16 people at a time. Sliding doors off the dining area lead to an outdoor patio, equipped with chairs and a fire pit (and dining table and chairs in the summer months).

Our oversized hot tub sits behind the house, accessed from either the dining room or the primary bedroom. Charming cafe lights bathe the hot tub and side patio in a warm glow.

Please be aware that federal or county fire restrictions may prohibit fires during certain times of the year. Also note that, per Clackamas County regulations issued in 2023, commercial activities are prohibited at Pine Shadow Lodge.

Guest access:

You will have full access to all parts of the Lodge and property, except for the detached garage across the driveway.

We offer the following additional options to our guests:

1) Early check-in (2pm or later) on the date of your arrival for an additional $75 - availability depending upon our cleaner's schedules. Please reach out if interested!

3) Mid-stay house cleaning or laundry service - priced individually, please contact us for a quote!


**Winter Weather Advisory and Precautions**

Pine Shadow Lodge is located in a rural area at about 1,400' of elevation on the western flank of Mt. Hood. Be aware that between December and April we can have severe winter weather, storms, blizzards, snow, and ice. Please consider the following prior to booking:

- Only bring AWD or 4WD vehicles with chains when there is snow or ice on the ground, or a chance of winter precipitation during your stay. Our driveway is somewhat steep and can get icy, and guests have been stuck at the bottom of the driveway in the past. Limited parking is available on the shoulder of E. Salmon River Rd. at the top of the driveway.

- Our property, and all of Welches, is prone to power outages during severe winter weather. There is a chance that the house will lose power during a winter storm, which also results in a loss of furnace heat (we have an electric furnace) and water supply (we are on a well). We have a large wood stove for heat, and a supply of emergency water is provided, but you may be without basic utilities for a few hours up to a couple of days in extreme cases.
