Beautiful apartment, ideal access to train, metro and bus.....but...
To the point....the place was EXACTLY to my taste (loft-style, rustic, perhaps a sort of modern day perception of "old world" charm). I mainly booked through Olivier, but also was fortunate to meet Nadia, as well. Both were exceedingly easy to communicate with, and were most attentive to our needs. It was among the hotter days of August, but opening up those breathtaking windows at night, using the fans, and closing up in the morning helped to keep the apartment more than comfortable. In fact, maybe a little TOO comfortable, and TOO lovely, as, if given the option, my children were perfectly content in spending our entire time in Paris inside their apartment. Perhaps a little low on certain household supplies, but I suspect that also was due to the fact that Olivier accommodated our early flight arrival and allowed us to check in almost 7 hours ahead of the check-in time so I can hardly complain if the housekeeping was unable to have the place completely ready. The location could not possibly have been more convenient to the trains, metro and buses -- literally minutes walking distance. As it is, also, to markets, bakeries and restaurants. I would say, however, that, at least from a woman's point of view, the area can be mildly discomforting in that there were seemingly a lot more men hanging around immediately outside and to the north of the entrance to the apartment. South was no problem. ABSOLUTELY no incidents occurred, though -- just a little awkwardness. And, Olivier was also sensitive enough to have mentioned it prior to our arrival so we were totally prepared. Oh! Just one other thing to keep in mind -- especially those who may have exceptionally heavy luggage, or experiencing any physical disabilities -- the elevator seemed to be out of order. I don't know if it was a permanent issue, or a temporary one, but something to inquire about if it effects you, personally. We had no issues with it. And, in fact, kind of enjoyed a vacation from our usual laziness back home :) Olivier, Nadia and Philippe....thank you, so, so very much! You are all wonderful hosts, but even more importantly, wonderful people! It was a privilege to have had the opportunity to communicate with you, Oliver, and to have met you, Nadia (most especially) and Phillipe, in person! Merci et je vous souhaite beaucoup de bonheur!
