Our first night was a nightmare — the carbon monoxide detector went off around 2am, waking the entire family. With no response from the owner (understandable given the hour), we had no choice but to call Ocean City police. The fire department arrived, inspected the property, and evacuated all guests. It turned out the detector was faulty and had to be disconnected. Not exactly the relaxing start we imagined, and our kids were understandably shaken. The remaining three nights were fine. The location is very convenient — walkable to the beach and shops — though a bit noisy as a result. The unit was well-stocked with clean towels and sheets, which we appreciated. We asked for a refund for that first night, given the emergency and lack of sleep, but the owner declined. Disappointing, considering the seriousness of the situation.
