Insanely expensive for what it was. The bedding smelled like unwashed bodies and dirty hair, the elevator doors were screeching the entire stay, the temperature in the room was impossible to regulate and there was hair everywhere in the room and bathroom. The shower leaked into the bathroom and bedroom area as well. Not thrilled with any of it.

Decent Stay, but Misleading Parking Costs I stayed at Tru by Hilton Brooklyn from November 14 to 15. The hotel itself was clean, simple, and comfortable. The staff were polite and the room served its purpose for a short stay. I would have gladly given a higher rating, but the parking situation pulled the experience down. Their so-called self-parking is misleading. Nowhere was it made clear that parking comes with a forty-dollar-per-night charge. If I had known about this extra cost, I would have chosen a different hotel without hesitation. A surprise fee like that leaves a bitter taste, especially when every dollar matters in New York. The hotel has potential, and the stay was not terrible, but honesty about costs goes a long way. For that reason, I can only give three stars.
