This is a little motel turned into a hotel. Of course you’re not going to have the luxuries of a larger proper hotel, but our stay was fine enough that I’d consider coming back. A major benefit is how close it is to the activities we wanted to do. The good: - Walking distance from Warner Brothers Studio and a bunch of restaurants - Free coffee, tea, water, and ice in the main office - Room/sheets were clean and smelled fine despite a few reviews reporting a musty odor. - Kind and attentive staff - We didn’t use the pool, but it looked clean and well-maintained. The bad: - Bathroom is tiny and can be a challenge if more than one person is in there. - Wallpaper is peeling and you can see the uneven cuts. - Pillows were too firm and lumpy for my taste. - Breakfast is only a small selection of pastries from a local bakery and they’re soft and not fresh, but it’s something. - Parking on the actual property is limited. There are four regular spots and one handicap. We didn’t bring a car so it wasn’t an issue, and I’m sure there are off-property spots, but something to keep in mind if that’s important to you.

Office staff were warm and welcoming. Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Nearby restaurants and warm pool were a plus. Safe environment was important for me traveling with my young granddaughter and we never felt unsafe. This will be my “go to” hotel when I’m in this area from now on.

I chose this hotel because online it said it had 9.4 star rating and was just about a mile to universal studios, when in fact it was over 3 miles away and a 15 min drive by car. Luckily I had a rental vehicle. Also, a container of pastries and a coffee machine isn't a continental breakfast. Nowhere to sit and eat it either. The parking was very tight with limited spaces so we had to find street parking half our stay. Rooms are very outdated and the bathroom is EXTREMELY small. Also had an old musty smell every time you walked in until you got used to it. The staff was very helpful and nice though. The check-in was easy. Just a very old hotel. When I go back I will be staying somewhere else do to these factors. Looks like the Hilton and Sheridan hotel is within walking distance to universal studios and much nicer for a few bucks more. Unfortunately Expedia descriptions can be deceiving some times. Live and learn I guess. I can't say I would recommend this location. I hope this helps future travelers.

We loved The Tangerine! A couple things stood out: 1) Friendly, knowledgeable staff 2) Very clean room! 3) A wonderful heater/AC unit! It took no time to warm up when it got cold at night. 4) A deep tub. It felt glorious to have a hot bath! 5) Great choices for hot drinks in the lobby and the little coffee maker in the room was perfect. And we liked the pastries in the morning. 6) Wonderful restaurants just steps away. (Go to Don Cuco's!) 7) Easy-to-access free parking. We would recommend The Tangerine to anyone heading to Burbank, CA!
