A very nice hotel. About a five minute walk from the train station. The restaurant downstairs is really good, albeit a little expensive. The location is wonderful. And the hotel itself was very clean and the rooms are very nice. The staff was extremely friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

Really liked everything about The Waldstaetterhof. It’s not typical for a really nice hotel to be located next to a transportation hub like a train station. This was a nice change of pace. Great amenities and lots of restaurants, stores and attractions close by. Would stay here again.

Lake Sarnen Hotel & Travel Guide

If you are planning on journeying through Obwalden - Nidwalden and decide to stop by Lake Sarnen, as a well-read traveler, you will find it easier to book as soon as you can through Travelocity to secure the best possible place to base your trip. Or, you could stay the night in Wolfenschiessen, 7 miles (11 kilometers) to the east of Lake Sarnen, where you can choose between the Ramada Regina Titlis Engelberg and Hotel Schweizerhof Engelberg. If you stay in Wolfenschiessen, set aside some time to visit the Trueb Lake and Alpboden - Haldigrat Cable Car.

Before you leave Obwalden - Nidwalden, ensure you are able to join crowds watching a fast-paced game. Make your way to Stade de Suisse Wankdorf, which you can find west of Lake Sarnen. For visitors who like the convenience of locating a room nearby, reserve a room in the Hotel Bellevue Palace or Hotel Schweizerhof Bern.
