A Great Grindelwald Getaway

So happy we booked our stay here. The hotel is right near the train station, close to town and hiking trails, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is great. All for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

This was a nice hotel. There was construction going on so a bit noisy. Staff at breakfast and in lobby were nice and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Located near a gondola and had a coop (grocery store) within 100 meters or so. Also very close to the train station. A walk up the hill to the main area of town but there’s a shuttle that comes by on the half hour.

The hotel was out of town so you had to take a bus to get to restaurants and shops. On the other hand, it is right by the train station. The surrounding area is very picturesque.

Hotel location is very convenient from the terminal, but a good distance from the town. That was our choice to stay close to the terminal so in and out to different places made easy. But the hotel though has very clean room, there is nothing else in the room, no hot water maker, or coffee maker, no refrigerator, no tissue…. no glasses for drinking water….. no safe. Hair dryer is the only thing there. It is almost like a hostel. With a little extra amenities this could be a nice place to stay.

Good hotel even under renovations

We knew in advance that the hotel was under heavy renovation/construction, but this did not detract much from the stay. The worse (?) was that the panorama of the Eiger N wall from the balcony was somewhat marred by a construction crane (see photo) - not a big deal. We found room to park at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was great. The room is nicely furnished. One small fault: not enough power outlets around and just one USB outlet. And confusing light switches that operate on a delay and take time to master. The price is high, but so are most prices in Grindelwald

Amazing place to stay, definitely recommend the balcony view. Staying in Grindelwald to experience Mother Nature in its true form, especially the location of this lodge. Lodge is right next to terminal so accessibility was amazing. Lots of fresh items in breakfast however too many flies during summer season but that seems to be a norm in Switzerland.

We stayed in the Eiger Lodge chic. The rooms were fabulous. We had a great mountain view. It was absolutely beautiful, breathtaking views of the Eiger in the mornings at sunrise. What a great location. Great service. We enjoyed our time there.

Hot, uncomfortable stay

Room was very clean and that was best thing about it. Room was supposed to be air conditioned-it was not. Beds were not comfortable and room was stifling hot. Towels were barely big enough to qualify as a bath towel. Breakfast was good and the Grill Bar associated with the hotel was good too.

No AC so could be warm on hot days. Front desk was kind enough to lend a table fan which helped. Otherwise the property is very clean. Room was on the smaller side but neat. Breakfast was pretty good.

This hotel was absolutely lovely for our stay in grindelwald. Prices were cheaper than other hotels from our experience looking however nothing is cheap in Switzerland. Room was stunning and comfortable and had amazing views of the mountains. Breakfast was delicious and locally sourced food, and the toilet and shower in the room was superb.

Great stay. Located at Grindelwald grund which is the valley floor below Grindelwald. Did not realize this but is only 5 min drive to Grindelwald. Not an issue for us since we had a car. Many options for others without cars tho as train station and Eiger express are right around the corner of the hotel. Nice hotel. Modern. New.

Just a 5min quick walk from the Grindelwald Terminal (be mindful that this stop is one before the train final destination and this stop is called Terminal or Grindelwald terminal) and easy to navigate from the car parking area. Our check-in was smooth and big thank you to the person who happily accommodated us with early check in. Coming to the rooms, they are the best with excellent Mountain Views and crystal clean rooms. They had an excellent free breakfast(I’m not sure what else folks are expecting though) which is much needed in Switzerland given everything is so expensive and one could easily save 15CHF/person. I’d highly recommend for any couples or families with kids. This is just 5mins away from Grindelwald village and if your plan is to visit Jungfrau via cable car(Eiger express) this hotel is the way to go as the cable car starts right from Grindelwald terminal station and is just a few steps away from this hotel. If we ever come back to Jungfraujoch region, we will stay here again with zero regrets! Shout out to the morning breakfast staff who are extremely helpful and friendly!
