Very nice views of the mountain and city from the back side of the hotel. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Only critique is that they could have offered some free coffee with the free tea selection! Otherwise, we absolutely enjoyed our stay.

Oh we loooooove our stay here. We felt so at home. Our room is just the most comfortable, cleanest space ever!! There is so much space for our baby to play during the night. The japanese style room just made our Japan travel more immersive in their culture. It's one of our best hotel experience!!!

I had a great stay. It’s like an apartment but have the amenities like a hotel, except that they don’t clean the room during the stay. But you can drop towels in the laundry basket downstairs and pick fresh ones anytime. There is reception round the clock, which is awesome. View of the river is fantastic. There is a Japanese style room which was a nice experience.

Great view! English and Japanese speakers will have an easy time. The room was very nice and had everything needed for us including a crib! Such a beautiful view of the river and a great location to visit kawamachi-dori or kimizudera .

Love this place. Perfect location.

Loved this place on a quiet street next to the river and a short walk from Gion’s cultural sites. The 1br apartment suited our family of 4 given the enclosed sleeping space near the living room for our 2 kids. The apartment is well designed and comfortable with all you need to cook, do laundry and relax. It was a perfect pick for our visit to Kyoto. The staff are excellent and easy to communicate with.

Kyoto Riverview House Kyou-raku was one of our favorite places to stay in Japan. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Alex made our experience even better due to his excellent customer service! Great location on a quiet street. Walkable to the train station, restaurants, and shopping. We really liked the layout of the apartment, plenty of room for our family of 4. The washer/dryer was very helpful. We hope to stay here again on our next trip to Japan.

We had such a lovely experience staying at Kyoto River View House as a family of four. The superior suite had more than enough room and having a kitchenette and laundry machine was extra helpful. The location of the hotel was very picturesque, and it was such a pleasure walking around to get to many sights. Kyoto station was a bit of a walk (30 minutes) so we ended up taking the local bus or taxi if we needed to get on the JR trains. Hotel is a five minute walk to Keihan train line though so it is possible to use that directly and transfer to JR line a few stops down. Many minimarts close by and dining options!

We just love staying at Kyoto Riverview House. The staffs at the front desk were just awesome. They went out of their way to make our stay amazing,ie. book our restaurants, call our taxis, answer all our questions. The location is the best, Gion district is just across the river and the market is just 10 minutes walk. Our room was big with all the amenities - stove, fridge, microwave. The bed was very comfortable which was a big deal for us after a full day of activities. When we come back to Kyoto, we would definitely stay here again.
