"Our 4 day / 3 night anniversary stay at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort was extremely disappointing from start to finish.
On our very first morning, we woke up to a flooded hotel room. Our clothes, luggage, and personal belongings were soaked. Instead of immediately helping resolve the issue, the staff gave us a hard time when we requested assistance getting our clothes and luggage dried.
We were promised a new room right away, yet it took nearly 8 hours before we were finally moved. This completely ruined the plans we had made for our anniversary day. Sitting around waiting most of the day while dealing with water damage to our belongings is not how anyone expects to spend a vacation in Hawaii.
What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of accountability or customer service afterward. No compensation, apology gesture, waived fees, or any attempt to make things right was offered. Then, upon checkout, we were still charged additional resort and parking fees despite everything we had dealt with during our stay.
For the price paid and the reputation of this resort, the level of service and response to a major issue like a flooded room was unacceptable. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had, especially for what was supposed to be a special anniversary trip."
