2/10 Terrible

I stayed at the hotel for six nights. Jan 16-21. I paid over $1,000. It was bitterly cold. The hotel is near the highway, but you cannot walk anywhere for food. Sun night, 3 nights into my stay, the hotel posted a notice that the water would be shut off the next day for servicing. (There had been no problems with water over the weekend.) The maintenance call was likely scheduled for Mon because the hotel was full over the weekend due to a sports tournament. Most checked out by Mon a.m. The water was off from 10:00 - 3:30 pm. There wasn't a working toilet in the hotel during this time, nor water for coffee. I was unable to work in my room for six hours without water. I had to find some other place to work in the town. The hotel billed me the full rate of about $$171.00 for the Mon, even though it could not provide basic services. Management claimed the interruption of water was beyond its control. This is false. (The maintenance was scheduled when the hotel was far less busy. A sign had been posted in advance. There was no emergency.) I complained to the hotel about being charged the full amount. They offered me some reward points, valued at about $38. I am not a member of the reward program. The management argued that they could ONLY offer reward points as compensation. I suspect this is a falsehood as well. Buyer beware. Burlington Best Western did not treat me ethically at any point in this process, and you may wish to secure accommodations elsewhere.
