Smaller room in an older building. The room was clean, had a nice view of the canal and easy access to all the dining, bars and shopping that you could imagine. At night the WIFI was spotty or non existent because it was shared with the bar on the first floor. If you DO NOT BOOK a Canal View Room there will be no elevator and you will have to carry your bag up steep amd narrow stairs.

All staff except the lady who worked Saturday night were great. The pictures that are shown for the hotel are accurate. The heater did not work but only 2 times out of 10 days and the restroom was flooded when the showered was used for 3-4 days until the hotel fixed the issue. Other then those 2 issues we had a great time and would definitely go back to the same hotel

I was excited to stay in icon in canal house hotel. This hotel has a great location, very close to many landmarks, to the central station, boat canal cruises, and there are so many options for eating out on all kind of budgets. It was definitely an experience to stay in this kind of hotel with “traditional brown bar/registration desk”.

Stayed for a night while in transit. Good location close to things but also bad because of this. Lots of loud drunk people outside. Also not very clean sheets. All had hair, stains or mold.

Room was tiny but very clean and quiet. The only drawback was 2 flights of very steep stairs and no lift access to the room we stayed in. There is a lift so book an accessible room if stairs are an issue. There is a resident cat who lives at the hotel (Mickey).

I paid for a canal view, but unfortunately the property was under construction and we had scaffolding and sheets blocking our view. The hotel was also very noisy, as we could hear people banging around upstairs all night. We complained and the night staff did go up to talk to the people a few times but it didn’t do any good. We were tired when we left.

Clean small room. Old Amsterdam traditional building quite noisy rooms and extremely steep stairs because of the vintage construction. But very convenient location. I would say it was a good price/value ratio considering the location a few hundred meters from central station.
