Beautiful house but multiple complaints including terrible communication
Communication via VRBO between booking and check-in was helpful but not good upon check-in and throughout our stay.We kindly asked if could check in early at 2 pm as opposed to 4 pm, but the host replied no because someone was currently renting the property and checking out the same day we were checking in - very reasonable. However upon our arrival, the house temperature was only 60 degrees (mid-winter), and the smoke detector was regularly loud beeping because out of batteries. Both of those things make it hard to believe that there was a renter who checked out only 5 hours prior to arrival, and a house cleaner who did not notice either thing while prepping for our arrival.We noticed the kitchen had all dishware and cookware needed, but we only had one wine glass, which is hard to believe considering we're in Michigan's wine country.Welcome email w/Wifi details was never received. TV remote could not found.All things listed above were communicated to host upon arrival, but no response from host via VRBO. I needed to track down phone number for the rental company to request that maintenance bring batteries and wine glasses. Maintenance came 2 hours later so we needed to cancel dinner resos.Address is on Google Maps not Apple Maps.It sounds bizarre, but we received calls from renters (scheduled to arrive after our stay) who said they were provided our personal phone number by the host to order groceries. I don't appreciate host distributing my contact info.
