"Excellent service, excellent location"
The Lombardy is out favorite place to stay in DC. It's not the newest or grandest hotel but we find the location convenient & the staff courteous . It's impeccablely clean and the cafe quite good as well.

"Birthday Weekend"
This Hotel is in a nice area of DC, it a little bit away from major attraction sites but it's easy to get public transportation to get you there. It's in a quiet neighborhood so if relaxation is what your looking for, this hotel will be perfect. It is designed in a cotemporary style which can be cold but the hotel staff provides the warmth.

"Elegant and historic"
Probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in - at least in the last 20 years. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel so I can't comment on the rooms in the older section but I would guess that they are nice, too, based on the overall impression of the hotel. The valet parking is probably the only surprise during my stay at $44/day (including tax) but in downtown Washington, DC there really isn't any other option. My only complaint about the parking charge is that I did not know about it ahead of time.

I stayed @ the Lorien Hotel in Alexandria, VA, for 2 nights with my daughter and close friend.  It was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in!  Service was wonderful. Staff was pleasant and helpful.  Valet parking was efficient and smooth.  Rooms were immaculate and comfortable. We ate dinner on Friday night at BRABO and had breakfast both mornings there.  Food was superb!  All three of our party were extremely pleased with the quality of the hotel and surprised by its affordability!  Would highly recommend it!

"DC Trip"
Alexandria was a great place to stay and visit. The hotel and staff were tremendous to deal with and there couldn't have been a better location. It's a short walk to restaurants, shops and historical spots. The free trolley is always nearby. We walked to the train station but rode the trolley back after spending the day at the National Mall. It just seemed so easy to get around.
