"Sweet inn, great location, luxury comfort"
I was especially glad to have the valet help me from the parking across the street to my room and then collect all my things on departure day. The hotel is an easy walk to all the central city places, market and waterfront. My only complaints are there was no in-room coffee, no fridge, and not enough plugs for my electronics. Super comfortable bed.

"Happy New Year"
Our trip was stimulated by the reputation of Charleston as a happening city for their New Year's eve celebrations. The desk staff were very helpful in guiding us to locations where we could best watch the fireworks to be launched from an aircraft carrier across the river. The fireworks never happened. We did have our New Year's dinner at the hotel's Peninsula Grill restaurant. The meal, a five course fixed price banquet was the best meal we have ever had, anywhere,.with the best service imaginable. Never have we seen such a well trained staff..

"Our stay at Charleston Place"
It was our 49th anniversary and we were looking forward to a 2 night stay. When we arrived at approximately 3:40 pm we were told our room was not yet ready. Check-in time is 4:00. We waited about 30 minutes and I approached the desk and was told the room was still not ready. We were offered complimentary drinks and appetizer at the hotel bar for our inconvenience. The drinks and the appetizer were superb! Finally our room became available and it was great! Clean, finely appointed, and comfortable. The bathrooms have been renovated and are really nice! Our room had an air-conditioning problem. To be fair, the outside temps were in the low hundreds both days we were there, but our air-conditioner was not working properly. I called and reported the problem and someone came to the room within 15 minutes. It appeared that the air filter was improperly installed. It took quite a few hours to where the room became comfortable. Apparently the heat affected the water also.. The cold water was actually warm - not cool - warm. The other problem we had was our television. No matter which station we watched, the picture would continuously, like every 2 minutes, freeze up. To unfreeze it, you had to change the channel and then go back to the channel you were watching. We still loved our stay.
