Unfriendly Budget Motel

Pros: The location.
Cons: Stated above, new beds and please do not mislead people with false amenities. There was no pool.
Location: San Luis Obispo, college town. Cal Poly, beaches, the mission and wineries.
Booked this budget motel for the convenience of close proximity to family wedding venue. Knew that we were reserving a budget motel as I have stayed at Super8 before. However, paid waaay tooo much for what should have been a decent, comfortable room. Let me start with the staff at front desk. Woman was very hard to understand, she was friendly but I did not feel like she understood what I was asking. Also, when we arrived late, (around 10:15 p.m. she stumbles out of door and acted like we were intruding and what did we want when I made it clear we had a reservation. Also notable I had called a couple of hours earlier on the road and told her we were going to be late and she said that was fine. But it did not help her rude attitude towards us when we walked in. I am a single woman travelling with children and believe you me I wanted to check in as quickly as possible and not be glared at for arriving late. Secondly, motel did not have a pool as we were lead to believe upon making our reservation. Very disappointing to my children and misleading. Finally, and this is important for all you weary travellers, the beds in this motel are HORRIBLE!!! They should be tossed and invest in all new mattresses. The mattresses were hard, smelly and caused us to have little to no sleep the whole time we stayed. We suffered for four nights!!! Backache every day I woke up!!!

below average...

I think for the same price you can get a better deal in the same area. Dog "friendly" hotel but there is no space on the property to take your dog. The toilet was not working properly and the room needs updates. It is a motel 8 but I stayed at better ones.

Look Elsewhere

Pros: Not much, except the location. Will choose a different motel next time.
Cons: The management needs to instruct their cleaners NOT to enter the rooms of guests on checkout day until AFTER they have OFFICIALLY checked out.
Location: Location is good, walking distance to restaurants and surrounded by many BETTER motels.
Very disappointed in this hotel. Shabby and worn decor, lampshade liners were shredded, baseboards in bathroom were coming apart. Ceiling in shower was peeling away, carpet felt dirty, Bed was relatively comfortable but the sheets did not seem clean. The manager was initially rigid about 3 pm check in time, even though we told her we had a wedding at 3pm and still needed to change and drive there. (I had called the hotel directly before making the reservation a couple weeks before to make sure there would be no problem with early check-in and was assured there would not be a problem). When we pointed out to her that, on our way from the car to the office, we'd seen rooms already prepared for guests, she finally relented. The next morning, after depositing some of our belongings in our car before going to their breakfast room, I came back to find the maid in our room stripping the bed at 7:30 AM!!!!!! We had not even removed all our belongings from the room; we had not yet checked out yet (intended to take the rest of our things to the car and check out AFTER breakfast.) She had even already pocketed money left on the dresser (which was meant as a tip, but NOT UNTIL AFTER WE'D CHECKED OUT.) I was livid. She had no business being in our room at that time. I see this as a gross failure of management to establish policies that don't infringe on their guests' privacy. Rooms should not be cleaned until AFTER guests OFFICIALLY check out.

Old and out dated.

Cons: Noisy
Electrical outlets didn't work at the vanity. The water in the shower barely came out and impossible to adjust the temperature. Big gaps in the door so it sounded like everyone outside was in our room. Nasty stains on the bed linen. I will definitely be more careful with online booking.

good basic place for the money. no pool, but fridge, micro...

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: no pool or hot tub
I would stay here again, but did leave 2 full bags of chips and later that day called back, and they weren't there. Suspect cleaning people stole them. Ahmul the manager was good and friendly. It is a good walk to town location, no frills, very basic "breakfast", but worth the price. I would definitely stay again. I was there for a week in early September for a course at Cal Poly, which as about 15 minutes away. Not much immediately nearby, but a 15 minute walk takes you downtown to all the restaurants. Wild Donkey ( Greek Mexican) was good, as was eating at the farmers market ( Thursday nights)- more of a food/ farmers market with a ton of students. Interesting, but fun.

The hotel was ok although we could hear other patrients making loud noises through the night also their entering and leavin.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet, Noisy
I would like to say that all out the hotel was ok. I was not able to connect to the wifi and there wasnt an adequet reason why.... the room was clean and bed ok. We did hear some loud patrients both in the room next to us and below us around 2am and also 4am. This made it difficult to sleep. I am looking forward to the time when hotels will no longer be needed when traveling abroad. A time when all persons will love each other and freely open their homes to friends who love them and their creator. Most persons dont think that this is possible or that it will ever happen. The Bible however provides us with encouragement that this will indeed happen. At (Genesis 1:28) Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.” You see this was God's original purpose for the earth. It will be realized again when this happens (Psalm 37:9-11# For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace. what a wonderful world it will be when no one on the earth has an evil intent and all persons are loyal worshipers of the only true God who calls himself #Psalm 83:18# That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth. May that time period come soon as so many today are suffering many forms of abuse, poverty and injustice.#Revelation 21:3, 4) With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

If you are looking for a place to crash for the night, this hotel is perfect!

If you are looking for a place to crash for the night, this hotel is perfect! It is clean and simple with all the basic amenities. It is centrally located and surrounded by lots of restaurants and activities within walking distance. I would not recommend if you are planning to hang out at the hotel with your family and friends. The "pool" is an oversized hot tub in the middle of the parking lot and the rooms are just large enough for your luggage.

Motel was older tho pretty clean. Bathroom could have used some sprucing up and the shower had some mold in it. Check in was seamless.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy
We stayed two nights and enjoyed the closeness to the downtown area. The farmer's market on Thursday ngiht was excellent and we enjoyed being able to walk to the Apple Farm for dinner. Excellent meal. Motel was older and could use some up grading but on the whole it served us nicely.
