Service really needs to improve to justify cost

This hotel is in the BEST location ever! It is a beautiful historical building with a really nice, relaxed vibe. However, the service really needs to improve to justify the very expensive rate and to make this hotel comparable to other luxury hotels. The front desk staff are not very helpful and every time you request something, it feels like you are a burden to the staff! The sheets are not spotless clean and we actually found spots on blankets twice! When you call the front desk for anything (e.g., extra towels, etc.) it's a hit-and-miss as to whether they will get you what you need! Overall, it's in a great location and a beautiful building but not top-notch service.

Good

Good overall, but could not control air conditioning system from turning off in the middle of the night several times and turning on abruptly. Resting was a challenge for this reason. I love the location, food and service. Only thing I would change is being able to control my own air in the room and parking situation, if you are lucky you get parking in front but if it’s full the hotel offers no parking.

The hotel was beautiful but overbooked. I paid over $700 a night for 2 beds and ended up with one bed and a rollaway. I received a $100 hotel restaurant credit to compensate. The location is good but I was disappointed with the room.

This is a beautiful place to stay for a few nights in Old San Juan. There seem to be many events at the property but we did not hear a thing in our room at night. The pool is nice and the wine/cheese hour is lovely. They did not clean our room everyday and that was disappointing, but we had a wonderful stay overall and would go back!
