I was never even able to check-in to the Nob Hill Motor Inn. The front desk clerk was very rude to me and did not allow me to check in and would not give me a reason as to why.

The walls were very thin and I could hear next door's music. It was a motel style so the door leads straight to outside. Although the hotel isn't in tenderloin it still felt a bit unsafe outside at night alone. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

We choose this location for the price and recommendations of the area being safer than others. The room was clean and basic. Seems as if they had done some remodeling on it and didn’t finish. Some walls were half painted. We had paid for 2 nights as we had tickets for Alcatraz and didn’t want any of our belongings in the car but were not planning on staying the second night. Well Alcatraz got cancelled and we checked out at 10:30am with nothing offered to us at all. It’s a fairly inexpensive place to stay but not fancy at all and the bed was rather firm.

The only reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because I paid via Expedia. I was told there would be a $200 deposit on my card (which is fine). That $200 posted on my account and then they’re currently holding another $200 pending charge. All together for 3 nights. 2 - $200 holds plus $561 Expedia charge. Kinda wild for a motel.
