Just an F for Hotels.com

I write this directly to Hotels.com for continually scheduling me the night after. Thankfully I had the next day off so I took it up, considering I had already paid for it. What Hotels.com is doing is scamming people it’s plain and very simple. The people here are very nice and the place is super clean and safe. My only complaint is how Hotels.com does business and how 3rd party companies as such completely do you in the wrong. It should honestly be illegal.

Off the Path

This Super 8 is south of Topeka in a very wide open and quiet area. Parking lot was empty when I arrived just after 3 pm, but was full when I left the next morning. Never heard a sound. Kind of isolated, but a nice food stop/diner/gas station around the corner. I loaded up on pizza slices and hot deli sandwiches for under $20 and was good for the night and the morning. Diner was packed. Great coffee service in the room with gourmet coffee packs and a 4-cup brewer. Good location for low traffic into the heart of the capitol and all the official buildings. Never worried about my vehicle.

Staff’s very unfriendly and rude. The beds were terribly uncomfortable. The rooms and hotel were clean which is about the only positive. I read other reviews while staying at the hotel and discovered they charge crazy $10 fees if they find stains on hand towels. I travel often and have never had an experience any hotel this bad. Stayed for 1 night and it cost me $170 and I got zero rest. Also we arrived at 9:00 pm and the pool was already closed. The pool opens at 9am and closes at 8:30pm. This place is absolutely shady and not worth the money. I wouldn’t pay $50 to stay here. I definitely would love a refund because this experience was horrible. The only possible way someone could enjoy staying here is if they enjoy terrible service and like sleeping on pavement.

Location to event and the lady working the counter was very friendly and helpful. There was a lot of people staying this night for a youth event that had to be gone early 0545. She said we could get the breakfast grab and go stuff early. The morning lady was entirely different. I turned on the light. She shut it off and said get your stuff in the dark. Very unprofessional. Would not even listen to us. Tried explaining what the night clerk had said. She just said this is my rule you’re going to do it my way.
