"Awesome boutique hotel in the middle of everything"
This hotel was really great overall. It was within a short walking distance to many of the sites (Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, Villa Borghese). The metro was down the block so you could go further in a few short minutes (Colosseum, Vatican). There were multiple ATM machines a block away. There were many excellent restaurants close by. The staff was very nice and helpful in booking reservations to restaurants and showing you how to get around. Despite the restaurant/bar on the premises and Hard Rock Cafe up the block, the room was very quiet. The decor of the hotel and rooms could be described as antique elegant. Each room even had it's own doorbell. The furniture was mostly white, but very elegant and refined. We considered another hotel near Villa Borghese that seemed to have similar overall ratings, amenities, location, but what tipped us overs the free wi-fi throughout the hotel. Using FaceTime helped to save a lot of money with phone calls home and we had no issues with connectivity inside the room at all. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Pricey but nice, don't stay on 7th floor, restaurant located there, very loud, especially in the evenings. All staff exceedingly helpful and nice with the exception of restaurant host. Very snobbish and rude.

"Wonderful hotel in Rome"
We loved the Hotel Raphael! The staff was pleasant, courteous and attentive. The hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel just off Piazza Navona, and in a walking city was conveniently located. We walked easily to the Vatican, Tivoli Fountain and the Colisseum, plus everything in between. We had booked a deluxe double room, but was upgraded to a mini-suite, at no extra charge. We asked that a cot be put into the room so our daughter could spend the last couple of night with us, and it was absolutely no problem, and reportedly very comfortable. Our room was well appointed, very clean and quite spacious. If I had a minor complaint it is that we could often hear street noise at night from our first floor room. The breakfast buffet was a very pleasant surprise, and had a complete and wonderful assortment. If you stay, do not miss the splendid rooftop bar on the sixth floor with a wonderful skyline view from Piazza Venezia to the Vatican! If we are lucky enough to get back to room, we would definitely stay at the Hotel Raphael.

"Small hotel with great view from roof top terrace "
This hotel is well located and has a very helpful staff particularly Dameano who went out of her way to make reservations online, which we had not been able to accomplish. There is a roof top terrace with a view of St Peter's Basilica for breakfast and cocktails. Our room was large (by European standards) with attractive furnishings. There are two small pleasant rooms off the lobby suitable to gather if there are multiple guests from more than one room.

The Britannia Hotel

Via Napoli 64, Rome - Map
Arrival didn't start off so hot, when the front desk told us our reservation had been canceled because our card was declined (which wasn't true - credit card company showed no record of an attempt to charge the card). Fortunately, there was still room, and they used the rates that we had originally booked with. Room was just what we needed - tight fit, but nothing out of the ordinary for Europe. Shower was GREAT. The kicker though was the non-stop running toilet, what I liked to call our "built in water feature." Each morning, I reported it to the hotel, but it was never completely fixed. One flush and it was off and running again with no temporary fix we could make overnight. Breakfast was fine - nothing outstanding, but filled the need. We did get GREAT service from one man at the front desk (whose name escapes me), who guided us to an incredible pool club in the suburbs to escape the summer heat. Even though it was very close to the train station, that only mattered when we left to go the airport. Next time, I will stay more centrally to all the sights.

Hotel was close to everything. Only problem was the walk uphill to get to it. From the hotel we easily walked to most sites and took the metro to the Vatican. Bed was a little hard but we slept well anyway. Front desk staff was very helpful in guiding us to our destinations. Many good restaurants within 1 minute walk.

"Even Better than advertised"
very nice hotel, unusual amount of amenities, friendly staff, well maintained and clean. We had a large family room for our family which included a small separate room large bathroom and plenty of space which is a rarity in Italian hotels. Hotel has a pool and sauna which I don't believe was even mentioned in the online description. Even has a Vespa museum in the lobby. Definitely recommend for a stay in Rome.
