The bed are as hard as rocks.. very old bed..basic do it yourself breakfast. Too expensive for what they offer. Great location.

The place is very clean and nice. The problem is that the private bathroom is not in your room, its about 4 doors down. They should have provide us with bathrobe cause your in a public area. They advertise as a full buffet breakfast but its not its more like continental breakfast

Staff was amazing! Location great! People were going on and out all night and the doors slam so it was a bit hard to get sleep but isn't not anything the hotel can do. It's the age of the building.

Great place near Termini Station

I stayed here for one day each at the beginning and end of my trip. It is a very lovely place. Less than 10 minutes from Termini Station so super convenient if you have to leave early or just want a quick commute to the station, and directly across the street from Santa Maria Maggiore. The room was super clean, good shower and bathroom, able to close the windows for complete darkness at night or keep them open with light curtains. They were easy to communicate with. You do have to arrange your arrival because there is not a front desk, but they allow for pretty early check-in (10 and 11 am for our two stays). Even being in a fairly busy area of the city, it was quiet at night. Would definitely recommend.

Close to train station

Staff are excellent, we flew all night we were greeted upon arrival and able to check in and rest. A bit a of a walk to Spanish steps and Trevi fountain about 25minutes but it's a nice walk. Once you figure out how to get in (ring door bell for msuit on left side of door ) there is no sign outside but once you get in the main door there are clear signs for maior B&B. Room was huge! Needs a little updating but very comfortable! Cute sidewalk cafe outside door. Lots if shops on same block for water, food.

A good choice.

Old style building in keeping with Rome. An apartment rather than hotel, but staff available periodically and were very helpful. Ours was a large very comfortable room, a big bathroom, with great view of street and Cathedral, but we noted other much smaller rooms also available. On the first floor and we used the stairs rather than the very experienced and small lift. Very well located, 5 minutes from Termi rail station and handy for mass on Sunday. Wi - fi available but was a bit weak at times. Breakfast was basic and self serve , but adequate. Would stay again.

My Stay at the Maior In Rome

While the accommodation was clean and tidy, sleeping was difficult as you could hear all the noise from the hall way and the street due to all floors having hard surfaces. Secondly, there never was enough hot water for showers, three, No iron or ironing boards so guests could iron their clothes and last, no microwave oven in the common kitchen so guests could heat up food if they didn't want to eat out every night.

Classic rooms

High vaulted ceiling and plenty of light greeted us at the Hotel Maior. Stefanos and Leopold made sure that we had everything that we needed. 3 minutes from Termini and 15- 20 minutes from most of the historical sites, Hotel Maior offered a great value for visiting travellers. We would definitely come back.

Great B&B, great location and great accommodations

Great place to stay. Close to Termini and many good restaurants nearby. Rooms are spare, clean and functional. Very welcoming staff. Breakfast is mostly packaged items and in room coffee so it will do for some and not enough for others. overall I would definitely stay here again.
