Great hotel and Staff in the middle of Rome

Pros: The staff, the lobby and grand sitting area, the outside interior courtyard and garden, the breakfast, etc.
Location: 15-20 minutes walking distance to many tourist sites -- and there are multiple restaurants and shopping nearby.
Our stay at the Hotel Quirinale was flawless. We had a very comfortable room and the hotel staff was very accommodating. We were greeted by one of the hotel managers when we arrived, who welcomed us to the hotel and Rome. He went out of his way to make our stay extremely pleasant and checked in with us each day we were there (THANK YOU) to see how we were doing. From the large sitting areas in the lobby to the interior garden, we were very pleased with the stay. We easily could walk to many areas in Rome. And one afternoon we came outside to sit in the courtyard and could hear the three tenors practicing from the Opera House that is adjacent to the hotel. We would stay here again if we go back to Rome.

A Week in Rome

Pros: The location!
Cons: It could use a minor face-lift, but
Location: Conveniently located to explore all of Rome. We easily walked to the Colleseum, Pantheon, Borghese Gardens, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and more!
This was a real good hotel for our stay in Rome. It is in a great location for exploring the various sections and sites of Rome. The hotel itself is comfortable and the staff friendly. Some may debate whether it has "old school charm" or is just dated. I would say the former and think the latter is being overly-critical. Bottom line: many positives with only minor negatives. Well worth the stay.

Pros: location!
Cons: smiles on the staff. in every department.
Location: centrally located. restaurant in hotel. good food.
very nice accommodations! very busy . i suggest you request a room off the busy street nazionale. earplugs are in my travel case as a standard.and i did use them. service to the airport was fantastic! its very hard to get a smile from the breakfast crew. the restaurant food was very good and convenient. i was here easter week so the entire city was buzzing! i definitely would stay here again and recommend it. the rooms were large, clean, newer, and had all the amenities you would expect and more!

Old Elegance

Pros: It offered good accommodations and services.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
Location: The hotel is located near the train station and the heart of the City. I stayed here before I left on a cruise out of Civitavecchia.
I felt like this hotel was a view into an older, elegant time in Rome. The staff showed professionalism and attention to detail.

close to everything

Pros: centrally located and close to metro and rail lines
Cons: just proper training of staffing at breakfast to handle overflow, ie if raining, I do not consider this a major issue
Location: shopping, restaurants, metro, and rail all easily within walking distance
overall experience great with the location. only issue was breakfast one morning, was raining outside and staff was not able to handle seating properly, staff needed training on this issue on how to properly handle this situation, all other days were just fine, since the rain did not affect the outdoor seating. I would stay here again with no problem. this issue was minor only, with little inconvienence

Nice hotel, disappointing staff.

Pros: Very nice, traditional Roman style. well located. Walking distance from the Colosseum
Cons: Customer service needs serious improvement, some tourist are actually very nice and happy to be on vacation.
Location: Centrally located, easy access to public transportation.
It was clear from the time we landed in Rome that the hotel staff had no interest in customer service, much less assist in making our stay more comfortable. While the restaurant staff was pleasant, the front desk staff practically told us we were not welcomed, They overcharged the hotel shuttle (60 euros) while the Rome taxi cab companies have a clear policy of only 48 euros-fixed rate for transportation to and from the airport. They were not helpful with directions, food recommendations, etc, They seemed annoyed and unwilling to assist. One of the front desk staff actually admitted that they "do not like tourists, but we have earned their dislike" If you can overcome/overlook this service, the hotel is very nice, and well located. Even with respect to cultural differences, I do not believe customer service should be an unrealistic expectation.
