I took this in March at Belém Tower, in Lisbon, Portugal. And came at just the right time - sunset time! And yet there were still quite a few people lazying about :). It was a beautiful Spring day there!

This fortified tower is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most iconic sites in Lisbon! Built in the early 16th-century, it played a significant role in the Age of Discoveries. The tower was commissioned by King John II to be part of a defense system at the mouth of the Tagus river and a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. The structure was built from Lioz limestone and is composed of a bastion and a 30 m (98.4 ft),four storey tower. It's impressive to see in person! Thanks to Wikipedia for the info, as well ;).

The Jerónimos Monastery or Hieronymites Monastery is a former monastery of the Order of Saint Jerome near the Tagus river in the parish of Belém, in the Lisbon Municipality, Portugal; it was secularised on 28 December 1833 by state decree and its ownership transferred to the charitable institution, Real Casa Pia de Lisboa.
Located along the Tagus River, next to the Belém Tower.
The main statue represents Prince Henry the Navigator.
At the back of the monument: the 25 de Abril Bridge looks like the Golden Gate Bridge, in San Francisco
