Nice hotel, but no night activities.

We stayed for 7 nights. The first night was great just watching the sunset. After a couple nights, we got bored. There isn't anything to do at night on the resort. After the pools close, it's a ghost town. No activities where as other resorts have them to keep the guests happy. We went all inclusive and probably spent another $1000 usd. Outside the resort on activities, restaurants. The food was okay, but the same thing every day. The employees were excellent and willing to help you at all times. They treat you like royalty. You ask, and they say "of course". We enjoyed our trip, but we would try a different resort next time with more to offer. I gave it 4 stars, but probably only 3.7 stars.

Thank you very much for your detailed suggestions. Our guest’s feedback is truly important for us and we will consciously revise all of your remarks. We are sad to read that unfortunately we have failed on meeting your expectations in regards of night life. It is important for us to mention that our nightly entertainment follows our resort’s concept of luxury yet enjoyable atmosphere including live music and themed nights. In other hand, the location of our resort allows our guests to visit the thrilling and famous night life of Puerto Vallarta, just 10 minutes away from us. Once again we regret we were unable to fulfill your expectations on this matter. We look forward to have the honor of welcoming you back home to offer you a truly remarkable experience.

Fun in the Sun for Six Days....

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Ceiling fans in the rooms, a few more TV channels added that are in English.
Location: Supermarket short walk; 15 min walk into town to enjoy the shops and local restaurants. Plenty of excursions/tours you can make reservations for.
This was my first time to Puerto Vallarta and very pleased with the hotel choice I had made. PROS: Excellent nightly entertainment, gracious staff always with a smile and willing to please, excellent food choices reasonably priced, many types of activities planned throughout the day for all ages, and very comfortable beds. The weather was perfect every day. In order to obtain loungers by the pool, you must get there early to claim them with your pool towels. We didn't find it necessary to exchange American dollars for pesos as we used our credit (not debit) cards for all transactions. Very nice 15 min. walk into town to shop and eat outside the resort. We found out too late that Wednesday is a good choice to go into town as it is Market Day. A large supermarket is also a short walk where you can buy snacks and bottled water for the room. CONs: rooms definitely need ceiling fans and approached by "Travel Club" sales people as soon as you enter the hotel.

Earned every star!

Pros: Everything. But friendly service stood out. Meals were amazing. The place was impeccably clean..
Cons: The beach was rocky, but they are building a breakwater and this will improve.
Location: Good location. Everything is a cheap cab ride away, or, if you're feeling brave, take the city bus. It's pretty memorable.
I'm not one to just give out five stars in every category. But they earned it! Service was unparalleled. The all-inclusive meals were amazing. And they had other, more intimate dining available too. The location was good. In the middle of everything. So, here are the tips: avoid the taxi and time share parasites when you arrive. Go directly to the awaiting cab drivers, tell them the hotel and pay the posted $15 rate as you exit the airport. (Rate may change when you travel). The taxi parasites standing inside, or just outside the airport just raise the rate on you. At the Sheraton, don't be fooled by the hostess who claims she wants to give you tour advice - it's another timeshare scam, although, she is insulted by the name timeshare, as she calls it a something else, but it's nothing but a timeshare... There is no perfectly situated hotel because activities are in both directions, so this one, being in the middle, is about as good as it gets. The views are amazing. But you don't need the top floor to have them. Anything over 6/7 floors is great if you need an unobstructed view. They will move you around upon arrival if you don't like your room. all the rooms are the same exact size. From top to bottom floor. All you are getting at the higher floor is a little better view, and, if you want to splurge, the club level - which I had, but I wouldn't do again. Not really worth the extra money, but if you're feeling flush, then splurge for it. Unforgettable!

Pros: Our room was very comfortable and clean.
Cons: The food served poolside is not always the best. But the MAIN thing to be improved about this hotel is to STOP the hard sales tactics used on guests!!
Location: This hotel is within an easy 20 minute walking distance of the Malecon. For good food and service, eat at Cuetos for dinner. See Fodor's guide book.
The Positives: very comfortable beds and clean rooms every day with fresh towels. Our Deluxe Ocean View room on the 15th floor had a great view of the ocean somewhat over the nearby palm trees, however try to get a room higher up if you want a better view of the ocean. By the way, the 15th floor is not really the 15th floor, it's more like the 3rd or 4th floor above ground. It's based on how they started numbering the floors in our particular building. So somewhat misleading. The wait staff at the pool were friendly and efficient. I always tipped them well since they work so hard. The Negatives: (Tip) => after you first check in to the hotel at the front desk, you will be accosted by staff with clip boards who will try to bring you over to the long desk to the right of the main front desk. They will try to up sale you on so-called VIP service with discounts on massages, meals, tours, etc. My advice, simply say "No Gracias" and proceed directly to your room. They will continue to approach you throughout your stay----simply ignore them. This practice of hard selling when tourists are tired from their trip is unethical in my opinion. They pretend it's just part of your check in, but it's not, it's a hard sales tactic to get you to spend more money at the resort. Terrible. Also, if you want a good night's sleep, you will have to close your windows and turn on the AC each night. Why? Because of the usual inconsiderate drunks yelling and screaming at all hours of the night.

First time in Mexico!

Pros: The hotel was clean, well staffed, and for the most part everyone spoke English in some way.
Cons: The laundry service is NOT part of the all-inclusive and we found this out the hard way! It should be posted that there was a fee for the service.
Location: We took a bus to the Malacan for shopping. Definitely was a highlight.
It was a great trip. We came for a soccer tournament and thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. We picked the all inclusive package and have decided that is the way to go when we come back again next year!
