A Gem of a place to stay!

Pros: The friendly atmosphere and staff.
The Priory was easy to find and had ample parking with more than one parking lot. As soon as I walked through the door I was made to feel very welcome by Michael at the reception desk. All of the staff was amazingly friendly and the historical decor and architecture is just beautiful. I didn't use the shuttle service offered but was encouraged to use it if I wanted it. I will take advantage of it next time I stay for sure. If you're looking for a light snack and a night cap I highly reccommend stopping in at the Monks Bar. I had the pleasure of having a few delicious specialty cocktails created by Rachel the mixologist on duty. She was amazingly friendly and a joy to sit and chat with before retiring for the evening. In the morning I was able to take advantage of the well stocked continental breakfast before checking out. I highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful historic hotel

The hotel was a very nice experience. The staff was friendly. Room was very clean comfortable bed. Very nice little bar area. My only complaint was you can't have coolers in the room. Otherwise it was wonderful and would definitely go back!

No Frills but Beautiful

Location: In the German neighborhood. A few shops, restaurants, bars. Not many and hours were inconsistent but a nice enough walk nonetheless. Children's Museum
A beautifully architectured building in the Northside neighborhood. Pleasant touches and craftmanship on display. The staff was excellent, check in/check out easy. A courtyard to relax in though no full service bar/restaurant. They will shuttle customers to limited sections of the city - not the airport (bummer) - so that's nice. I didn't use the shuttle as walking or using a bicycle was easy enough for me. The bed was comfortable, the room was warm and the shower had hot water. Pretty much all you need.

Great location

Pros: Antique finishes and attentive hotel staff.
Cons: Soundproofing the rooms a little better. Sounds outside seemed to penetrate the walls and windows.
Location: PNC Park is a 5-10 minute walk. Alleghany Hospital, just a few block away. Neighborhood seemed a little sketchy at night though.
Hotel is very beautifully done. The period furnishing and overall attention to detail is excellent- i.e.. The brass beds, the secret courtyard, the decorative tiles of the bathroom make this place shine. I went to a Pirates game at nearby PNC Park, which the hotel was gracious enough to shuttle me to. I would stay here again for that convenience.

Quaint, lovely, comfortable surroundings.

Pros: The atmosphere of the hotel is great.
Cons: Use rooms off the lobby for something other than guest accommodations. Too noisy.
Location: Pittsburgh is a great city with so much to do, one can't begin to list everything. Sports, shopping, site seeing, museums, theaters... I love it!
The setting and surroundings were lovely. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Convenient, free parking and shuttle to the city center. We loved everything except the location of our room ( right off the lobby and bar).

What a gem

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: Nothing close
This hotel as so much character and history. The breakfast was very good, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Although the neighborhood looked safe enough, based on other reviews I did not walk around the streets after dark. A bit out of my price range, but well worth the splurge. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a stay at this hotel.
