I would like to think two of the most professional, courteous, exceptionally knowledgeable and personable. Mary and Baily. I came in on a late Friday night with a reservation and somehow Expidia canceled it out without my knowledge. These ladies could’ve easily just said we’re sorry we don’t have a room for you and that was it. And I honestly would’ve been OK with that, but that’s not what they did. They studiously called around the city with their personal connections for about 30 minutes straight, trying to find us hotels, only stopping to help guest check-in until they found a room in another hotel. They did it with so much grace and humility as if they owed it to us. Me and my wife was so impressed with that because they owed us nothing. So instead of staying in the hotel that they got us for the whole weekend. We stayed one day and came back to the Oaklander for the next day or so. Not only was this the first impression of the hotel, but it was an amazing one. We decided from then on that we will always stay at the Oaklander every time we come back to Pittsburgh, no questions asked. We thank those two ladies and anyone else involved in our process and that amazing hotel. Thank you once again Mary and Baily

Comfortable and convenient. However, room furniture seems old and outdated. Old Lamp next to bed did not work (switch, not bulb). Only restaurant and bar in facility was closed Friday from 2PM to closing for a private event. No other options other than room service for food or drink.

I judge a hotel on the attention to detail of cleanliness in the bathroom. The sink overflow hole should be addressed (no mold or debris) and the shower edges that meet the floor, at the wall and glass door. The foot of the bed, where the platform isn’t covered by the should be clean, if exposed.
