Customer service a disservice.

All the pretense of a luxury hotel without any. Unapologetically, check in couldn't deliver a king bed request an hour before check in, stating all were gone already. Many angry guest in lobby. Security doesn't exist. Had to call housekeeping twice for robe, only one in a double room? And ice machine broken. An SNL comedy sketch.

More than exceeded my expectations

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, staff, service
I stumbled across quite the deal at the Ritz while planning a short notice trip to Philadelphia. I've never had the opportunity to stay with the Ritz before, but have enjoyed other high end establishments over the years. I must say, my wife and I were truly impressed by the professional, courteous, and friendly staff. Nothing was missed, nothing too small, nothing questioned. I am now a fan and will be staying at other Ritz-Carlton properties in the future. Thank you very much for the best trip in recent memory!

Great Hotel and Location

There were a few things that did tick me off somewhat for the amount of money I was spending and the brand / 5 star ratting attached to this property. Turndown service came to my room at 7pm and I requested her return in 30 minutes as I would be out for the evening. When I returned later that evening I discovered that turn down service had not been provided. Reading lamp on the desk was broken.

I felt as if they cared.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
The check in was some what unsettling due to a malfunctioning credit card machine: immediately the receptionist offered a glass of Champagne to smooth things over very nice touch. It is the little considerations make the Ritz well above the rest.

The staff were so eager to please. Great location. Small rooms

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: small rooms
The Staff was Great! Location is easy access to everything in Center city and University City. The rooms are very small with a odd musky smell. Changed rooms 6 times till we found one that was somewhat acceptable. The lobby is beautiful.

Beautiful Building

This building is an architectural gem. The old Girard Bank with it's huge marble lobby and beautifully appointed fixtures is a pleasure be in the midst of, having a drink or coffee and simply relaxing. The hotel is a great location for enjoying Avenue of the Arts and it's theatrea and restaurants, plus a wonderful view of Philadelphia's iconic City Hall. The service is first rate from desk clerks to doormen, everyone was pleasant and helpful (got great tips on what to order at our before show restaurant.) Being back home in Philly for an evening out with friends and daughters was made even more special having stayed at the Ritz Carlton.

Ritz--Wonderful experience in heart of Philadelphia

From the moment you enter its impressive lobby, you can relax that you are in the hands of truly professional hospitality personnel. Every single person was friendly, adept at his or her job and gave the impression that to serve you was their pleasure. The room was ready, cool and perfect; the trademark Ritz-Carlton marble bathroom made me feel in the lap of luxury. You don't go here if you are pinching pennies. Breakfast was delicious, but over-the-top expensive. Valet parking also adds to the tab. The plus is that you can walk from the lobby to many wonderful restaurants, the Kimmel Center, shopping--so much that Philly has to offer.
