The overall conditions of the hotel are just poor and rundown so the place feels sketchy. Also the area around the hotel doesn’t feel very safe. If you can afford an extra 50 bucks a night, stay somewhere else.

Property is in a hard to get to area, surrounded by homeless. The door room cards don’t even work to open main doors and you have buzz in a staff at the front everytime. The staff was very kind although the rooms were missing the actual coffee said was gonna be provided already and no microwave.

Do not recommend as the area is unsafe and dirty. Our room carpet floor was dirty, garbage left behind under the bed. Our room phone also wasn’t working. Staff weren’t helpful with safety concerns. Housekeeping never came to our room. I would definitely not stay there again.

Parking is convenient. Bed was comfortable. Was surprised the hotel did not restock on Hair Conditioner. Water pressure was good but temperature constantly fluctuated...cold...hot.

Our stay at the Days Inn on Rideau Street was very disappointing, and I would not recommend this location. The room and facilities were in poor condition, and the overall cleanliness was unacceptable. The staff did not seem attentive or interested in resolving concerns, and the experience fell far below expectations. After a long trip, we were hoping for a comfortable and welcoming stay, but instead found it stressful and unpleasant. This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had, and I hope management takes this feedback seriously to improve future guest stays.

The hotel does not have parking for vehicles higher than about 2 m. I had a canoe on my car and could not enter the hotel parking area - I had to pay to park at a nearby private parking lot. It was noisy for about 30 minutes - loud talking in the parking area. Almost every light fixture in the room was either broken, the light bulb burnt out or was endless flickering such that it had to be turned off or eventually burned itself out (bathroom mirror light for example).

During our stay, we lost power to the TV, fridge and outlets. After asking the front desk informed us that a neighbouring room had blown a breaker, and that power would be restored in the morning. We had to inform them that wasn't acceptable. Finally a new room was offered, on the 4th floor, which was very loud with mechanical noises heard from our room during the entire stay.

My stay at the Days Inn Downtown Ottawa was completely unacceptable from start to finish. When I first arrived, the front door was locked, and there were no staff members anywhere to be seen. I had to stand outside for nearly 15 minutes repeatedly pressing the call button before anyone finally let me in — an immediate red flag for how poorly this place is run. Once inside, I was placed in the motel section, which is never shown in their online photos. The room was filthy: there were stains on the walls, bedding, and nightstand, with red stains on the curtains, a dirty bathroom, and an air conditioner full of mold. The overall atmosphere felt unsafe, unclean, and completely unwelcoming. When I requested a room change (despite other rooms clearly being available), I was refused. I also asked for a refund because I felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe, but was again denied. The staff were unhelpful, dismissive, and showed no concern for guest safety or cleanliness. This hotel is misleading, unsanitary, and poorly managed. It does not match the photos or descriptions online, and no one should have to endure such conditions. For your own comfort and safety, avoid this place at all costs.
