Has the potential to be a hidden gem. Affordable rooms on a nice lot, just off Prince of Whales, south of Ottawa.
The rooms have been updated (cosmetically), and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The room was much nicer than the pictures posted online!
We ran into the following issues (in room #34):
-toilet worked intermittently (just had to take the lid off to get the water to refill, from time to time)
-landline phone did not work (not a big deal if you have a cell phone)
-the TV had a "white noise" in the background. The louder the volume got, the louder the white noise got in the background - if that makes sense? The staff did change out the TV while we were out (I didn't see them, but I have no reason not to believe them), however it did not rectify the issue
-the "continental breakfast" should not have been advertised as such...in my humble opinion! Processed muffins, tea, coffee, yogurt, 3 types of cereal. That's it!! Better than nothing I suppose, but when I think of Continental Breakfasts, I'm thinking eggs, sausage, pancakes, breads, a toaster, oatmeal, fresh fruit, etc?
All that said, the night front desk person was kind and did the best he could to rectify the issues we had (mainly with the TV).
Management was kind enough to give us a discount for the issues. They did offer to move us the next day, however we declined as they didn't have any other rooms available with 2 beds.
Will probably give this hotel another chance in the future!
