A stay with some nice features, but unfortunately dominated by maintenance and hygiene issues. Our toilet flooded TWICE due to a faulty balloon valve, spreading sewage water throughout the room and into the hallway. It was extremely unpleasant and not what you expect from a hotel.
The front desk staff and manager were apologetic, but the Sunday night supervisor was dismissive and unhelpful. He could not arrange proper cleaning (did not have key to house keeping cupboard), so I requested another room. We were offered a room treated with an ‘odour’ machine. It smelled strongly of ‘chlorine’ which gave me a headache within minutes. It was clearly unsuitable for an adult or child.
The maintenance team were also apologetic, worked on the issues, and cleaned up as best they could—but plumbing problems continued. Even the new room we were finally moved to had a leaking toilet that had to be removed and repaired before use.
Positives included comfortable beds, a generous breakfast, a good kitchen, and some friendly front desk staff. The manager approved a late checkout, but reception was not informed, and we were phoned at normal checkout to vacate immediately or be charged extra fees, causing more unnecessary stress.
The hotel has potential, but repeated plumbing failures, hygiene issues, and inconsistent handling of guest concerns made this a disappointing stay.
