The biggest feature of this property is it's location and proximity to Rue St.Catherine! The hotel is clean and straightforward. Having said that the rooms are a bit small with not much of a view of anything, but that might come with the downtown territory as well as the price point, which is pretty reasonable in comparison to other properties in the immediate vicinity. Otherwise, good experience generally!

Let me break it down: ➕ A sofa bed for my teen with stains (and no, it wasn’t toothpaste) that sure looked like male bodily fluids 🤢 ➕ An unlocked door when we checked in 🚪😳 ➕ Staff attitude: “It should be fine” 🙄 Asked for another room? ❌ DENIED. Asked for their sister property? ❌ DENIED. Told a roller bed wasn’t possible—then after 90 mins in the lobby, they magically “found” one: ⚠️ No sheet ⚠️ No blanket ⚠️ No pillow Called corporate? ☎️ ZERO help. Health hazards + zero accountability = Avoid this hotel—and ALL Best Western properties—at ALL costs. 🚫

Property present around most happening places of the town. No parking - u need to pay for parking exists 200meter from property Rooms are Ok, didn’t get a good view though from room. Escalator is noisy. No free breakfast. No drinking water facility in each floor Cost is high. Expect location, everything else is minimal. Can’t give more than 3/5

All three rooms that I stayed in during a six day stay had extremely slippery showers with what seemed like smooth plastic floors. I held on to anything I could grip easily to make sure I would not fall. (I was in three rooms because the first was near construction work outside and the second was near a noisy air conditioner on an interior roof.)

Conveniently located, so I could walk to museums, Old Montreal, McGill, events. Subway nearby. Welcoming and efficient front desk. Superb Cora restaurant right in the hotel. 24-hour fitness centre. Reasonable and accessible parking. Comfortable bed and linens, and nice quality bath products. The carpet-free rooms remind me of many southern European hotels, and must be better for both allergies and cleanliness. One issue: Not a big deal personally as I am able-bodied and have a mobile, but on arrival I reported my in-room phone was not working. It was checked by maintenance immediately, but 36-hours later when I left, it had not been fixed and no one had followed up with me. Second issue: construction site across from back of property began work quite noisily at 6 am. If the city does not have noise regulations precluding such an early start, then it would be wise to tell guests in advance and offer earplugs. Both things said, I would still recommend the property for its many upsides.

Montreal was very pleasant, however the staff I personally delt with at the hotel Best Western Plus Montreal Downtown Europa were perhaps untrained in my opinion. I cancelled a reservation I made, as I arrived a day early, to be told theres no history of me making the booking, as my confusion continued to ask questions, my reservation appeared. I booked with Expedia.ca with confidence. Im looking forward to travelling again.
