The parking amenities and the location were great! The lobby was beautiful and clean. The rooms however, were shabby- battered furniture, worn out bathrooms, and the carpet was filthy- walking from the bed to the bathroom, I left black footprints in tub. Mattress was old-school springs and need replacing. Would only return if I needed to be in that location.

the first thing you see is entrance to the property . the sidewalk, stairs leading to the entrance could have used a major cleaning. the elevator was located outside and had a broken railing. the hallways were dark and old looking rugs. even though it was non smoking floor it still smelled like stale cigs.my room needed renovation, furniture was old and pretty beat up, I requested to change my room because the safe had no key, the mattress was very stained (grose), the air conditioner was broken. bathroom need updating. old fixtures stained and cracked sinks and tub.

Good neighborhood, awesome staff.

This hotel is older and has an old smell to it, but the staff is fantastic and very friendly all if our requests were met, it is conveniently located, close to everything. Lots of parking. Great price for LA. Plus how much time do you spend in a hotel while in vacation, hardly any we only came back to shower and sleep. Would stay again.

Location, Location, Location

Pros: The location and proximity to many of the sites in LA.
Cons: The rooms need to be updated.
Location: Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood sign, Downtown LA, CA Science Museum, La Brea Tar pits and LACMA
The hotel is in a great location for many of the sites and attractions that I wanted to see. The Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood sign, the California Science Museum, and downtown LA were all 20 min or less. Even Santa Monica beach was not more than 25 min away. My only issue is that the rooms need a bit of updating. Other then that, I did not mind staying there.

Updates needed

Though the hotel is dated my past hotel experiences surpass this one. The staff was pleasant and accommodating which compensated for the shortcomings. We always had to call for towels after the room was cleaned. The electrical wall outlets needs replacing; the website pics are deceiving and my expectations were short lived. The TV was hard to operate had to have 3 service calls. I won't be returning or recommending this hotel to my friends unless major improvements are made.

Nice hotel a few things went wrong.

Requested non smoking room. Given smoking room. On smoking floor. Had very hard time getting towels from staff first few days. Finally given enough 2 days into stay. My biggest concern is house keeping staff that don't speak english. Hard to communicate with.

Horrible!!!!!!!

The walls and floor carpet had stains everywhere. The comforter on the bed was disgustingly dirty ( I'm guessing it was supposed to be white)it was more like dingy gray. The bathroom had exposed piping that was completely rusted out. I left and found a doubletree hotel fast !!!!
