Noisy aircon disturbs sleep.
The Great Scotland Yard is a wonderful building in a great location. The decor is good, the staff polite and our room was large, clean and comfortable.
However, if you are a light sleeper then I would recommend that you avoid this hotel. The ventilation system in our room hummed and rattled whilst switched on and, even when switched off, there was an almost continuous background hum. We raised this with reception after the first night and, after they discussed with engineering, we were told that it was normal and like that in all of the rooms. The recording I took of the noise is most definitely not normal nor is being kept awake by background noise.
Add to this a distinctly average breakfast experience (our booking included breakfast but that piece of information was not communicated between hotels.com and the property) and we would not choose to stay here again.
