"Wonderful plus Free Wine!"
We just stayed at this hotel for three nights checking out yesterday, This hotel actually offers coffee, tea, and two types of Portuguese wine 24 hours a day in the lounge area off the lobby, which is also the breakfast room. Even if they did not have that unique feature this place would be great. The breakfast is excellent with a great variety of choices. Unlike the hotels in Spain where we stayed on this trip, which were great, the breakfast had actually coffee-pot coffee, not just the Expresso type machine where you insert a packet and push a button. This hotel is located in the area called the Modern City on the main street Avenida Do Liberdade but it is a five minute walk from the Chiado section which is the shopping area and the pedestrian mall in that area which leads to the large Plaza by the water. ( I forget the name). There is also easy access to the other interesting sections, Barrio Alto and Alfama (where the Castle is located). The staff is just great; friendly and helpful in every way. And they all speak perfect English. In fact everyone in Lisbon seems to be fluent in English. Our room was very good. It was spacious enough for the two of us with sufficient closet space. The bathroom was fine but I found one of the controls on the shower a little difficult, but my wife had no problem.

"Perfect location for the perfect hotel!"
If I start off with the 2 "slight" negatives, then EVERYTHING else you can think of is a plus with this wondefully located little hotel. 1/ The bedroom had a slight "stale socks" smell to it................. 2/ If you have inconsiderate (French) guests in the room above you it can be irritating! Other than that, & at the flight/hotel price we got it at (flying from the USA) then it is without doubt the best Hotel l have ever stayed at anywhere in the World...............(there are better, but not in my price range there isn't!)

"What a great place to stay in Lisbon!"
How lucky I was to find this hotel! The location can't be beat. It is in the Belem area of Lisbon, surrounded by parks, and literally across the street from the St. Jeronimos monastery & cathedral. Short (15 minute) walk to Belem Tower or the botanical gardens, less distance than that to 3 art museums, Lisbon cultural center, archeological museum, maritime museum, national coach museum, presidential palace, etc. The streetcar also stops a block away for very easy access (20 minute ride) to the main rail station and all city centre sights. Several good restaurants in easy walking distance, including the famous Pastisserie de Belem, serving the best cream pastry that ever crossed your lips, if you're willing to wait in line for it. The hotel was squeaky clean, quiet, and had good size, nicely decorated rooms & very helpful & professional staff. Breakfast was included, and was the best spread that I encountered in two weeks of city hopping around Spain/Portugal (and included a supply of the delicious cream pastries mentioned above). The hotel also has a full bar, although there are many other eating/drinking options in the area. Parking was on the street and was free. I had no trouble easily finding a place close by - especially before or after peak tourist hours. The hotel's surrounding neighborhood seems more residential, less hectic, and feels generally safe for nighttime walks, etc. I fully recommend this hotel, and would stay here again without question. In my opinion, it is a much better option than staying downtown and traveling out to Belem to see the sights.
