Westlake Extended Stay

Front desk was helpful. I had spent one night traveling for work. Looked good from website photos and was fine, but I don’t believe I’d book for another stay. Space in room was large. Bed semi comfortable. Walls were paper thin as I had store room on one side - no issue from that side and another room on the other side. Those people were crazy loud. Sounded like they were on the phone and watching tv. I heard everything. I slept with the fan on all night to drown them out. Can’t comment on breakfast since I was meeting a colleague in Lafayette the following morning. Super close to all Westlake refineries. The back of the bathroom door was dirty looked like oily hand prints. and the room smelled like someone had smoked in it and then tried to mask it. But that smell stays in carpeting and bedding. Shower head was good but not great pressure.

A decent property. Quiet. No frills. Reasonably priced. The area overall feels safe. I’ve stayed a few times over the past year. A few minor upgrades could go a long way. The ice maker on the second floor has been “out of order” on every visit. More importantly, some doors and locks need to be repaired and reinforced, primarily for safety, but also for aesthetics. It seems to mostly serve temporary workers in the area. It’s probably more than adequate for that or a quick overnight stay.

The room 126 that I stayed in was next to the utility room. At about 230 am there was constant noise coming from there as the staffed were filling their carts, which kept us up.

The room was clean and the staff at the front desk were great. The not so great was hearing people talk outside on the patio at 1-2:30 AM. Our room was on the second floor over looking the patio, so this was annoying to have to listen to a group of people outside our room. Lesson to be learned, don’t take the great deal handicap room above the patio.
