"Great hotel on a budget. "
If you are going to Waikiki on a budget this is the hotel for you. Christieann at the desk was terrific. Room was comfortable and clean. Pool was small but nice. 3 blocks to center of Waikiki beach. 2 blocks to the bus stop. Convenience store 50 feet away. Had a bonus free DVD rental which was nice. I had a late flight out and they were very accommodating to letting me leave my bags at the desk and letting us play at the pool well past check out time without change. Great value hotel.

The hotel was nice and clean. We wish there were more amenities such as a pool, gym and restaurant in the hotel. The beach and restaurants were very close so it made it enjoyable.

"Beautiful Hotel"
I loved the accommodations! We had a 2 bedroom suite, and it was spacious and lovely! The only reason I didn't give a perfect review is because the pool is incredibly small and a lot of it is in the shade the whole time. The pool service is incredibly poor. The pool menu isn't the best either. The beach is about a 2-3 minute walk. (Not far at all) The concierge gives you a nice beach bag with a towel, sunscreen, water, and an apple to take with you-- which is awesome! HOWEVER... The beach is FULL OF ROCKS!! It's hard to even get in the water , because it hurts your feet!! This is by far the WORST beach in Waikiki!! I would recommend jumping in a taxi , and heading to a better "rock-less" beach a few miles away!! Last bit of information is that you will be charged for umbrellas and chairs at the beach by Trump. (Not too expensive though:) Overall, great accommodations, but the beach part is a big downer! Wai'okulu or whatever that restaurant is called is HORRIBLE too!!

Ewa Hotel Waikiki - Honolulu Hotels

Ewa Hotel Waikiki

2555 Cartwright Rd, Honolulu - Map
Cons... The building is old and on a backstreet. One elevator, and the cleaning lady practically sounds off like a constant alarm starting at 8:am. (With her voice echoing through the corridor non-stop which is not so good if you are from a different time zone trying to rest). For some reason there seem to always be local guys sitting at the corners of the street all of the time. There are surprise fees or daily charges for DVD rentals, Wi-Fi, newspaper, and parking but parking is first come, first serve. Whether you use them or not, it could run up over $35 per day. Laundry is coin operated. The toilet seat is only about fourteen inches off the floor and only a few inches in diameter. Pro's...Awesome staff especially Mr. Etsu and Miss Dylan.

"Good for the Price"
Our room was a good size, comfortable for price. However, we return to hotel around midnight to find both elevators down we were on 9th floor. Asked for other accomodations due to the lateness, and was given another room until next morning when we could retrieve our belongings and check out.

Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach

I love staying at the Hyatt Place waikiki. I was a little bit disappointed but nothing major. If you are looking for a perfect hotel, that hotel don't exist but Hyatt Place is close enough to perfect. I love their breakfast and everyone is friendly. Our flight back home was at midnight and they let us check out at 1 p.m and held our luggages until 7 pm. Like I said it's a nice hotel to stay and not far from the beach. That was our 2nd time to stay at that hotel and definitely we will go back again.

"average and outdated. Nickel and diming me"
I was fine with the aged and outdated parts of the room, water temperatures changing radically, fuses blowing and turning out the lights and television, old smell, but I really was annoyed by the parking! When you rent a night at a hotel, you should be allowed to keep your car at that establishment as well. The charge to park my car at their hotel was $35.00! This was not listed in any of my prior arrangements or booking papers. Very dissapointed by this.

My husband and I travelled to Waikiki to celebrate our anniversary. Once we arrived to our room, the hotel sent champagne and chocolates. What a wonderful treat for our anniversary. I would recommend this boutique hotel for anyone looking for a quality experience at a good price.
