Very cool place in a little village

We really enjoyed our stay in this rather quirky place. It's a great old stone building located in the small village of Grolejac. There is a small supermarket, boulangerie and charcuterie just steps away as well as a farmer fruit stand and several restaurants. The river is also just a 5 minute walk. We liked the property; we stayed during a heat wave when the temperatures were reaching the upper 30s during the day. We just left the windows open at night and closed up when we left for the day and returned to a cool house. Nice amenities; it's an older place with squeaky floors but that really adds to the charm. Lots of space to relax and spread out in. The outside areas also looked great but we didn't use them due to the heat. Good communication with the owner Benoit and Mrs. R who helped us get settled in.

Bad experience!

This holiday home has one major disadvantage: it is partly built into/onto the rock. And as the owner explained, after (heavy) rainfall moisture gets trapped inside the house.Upon arriving we noticed a strong and unpleasant musty smell. After having notified the owner, we opened all windows and doors, but unfortunately the smell persisted. The next day the owner sent the housekeeper, who confirmed the smell and installed two dehumidifiers. This however did not resolve the issue. The house smelled like a damp cellar. We booked for 7 nights but because of the smell decided to leave after 3 days.The communication with the owner was unpleasant. She refused to provide us a partial refund. I filed a complaint with the Vrbo/Abritel platform and they were very supportive and provided me the partial refund I requested.The house wasn’t particularly clean either: we found socks from the previous occupant in the top bunk bed and I could write my name in the dust on top of the refrigerator.

Charming cottage

We had an excellent stay in this lovely cottage in a small place in the Perigord Noir. It was very clean, we had lots of space and everything we needed. The location is very quiet, but very well located: all necessary shops just a few minutes walk away, the Dordogne river including canoe hiring also just a few minutes walk away. Half an hour walk for the local lake. Lots of gardens, castles, medieval towns and of course prehistoric sites to visit in this amazing area. Communication with the proprietor was extremely responsive, friendly and straightforward. Highly recommended.

Ne recommande pas du tout cette location pour litige......

Maison bien situĂ©e dont l'annonce prĂ©cise 2 terasses mais 1 seule est exploitable ( pommes tombĂ©es non ramassĂ©es attirant les guĂȘpes), problĂšme d'Ă©vacuation d'eau dans la salle de bain et fuite d'eau dans les WC. Pas d'Ă©tat des lieux Ă  la remise des clĂ©s en arrivant ni en repartant, entraĂźnant des problĂšmes d'objets cassĂ©s aprĂšs la fin de location. Facturation abusive : Salon de jardin en plastique facturĂ© 150 euros Ă  tord parce qu'il Ă©tait dĂ©jĂ  cassĂ©...... Pris 14 jours aprĂšs la fin de sejour avec l'empreinte de la carte bancaire.

Maison ancienne en pierre de la rĂ©gion et poutres apparentes. A notre arrivĂ©e, l'Ă©coulement de l'eau du lavabo et de la douche se faisant doucement, aprĂšs en avoir informĂ© le propriĂ©taire, nous avons optĂ© de mettre aussitĂŽt du DĂ©stop. Produit que le propriĂ©taire nous a proposĂ© de nous rembourser. PropriĂ©taire Ă  l'Ă©coule si soucis. PassĂ© ce petit incident, le sĂ©jour s'est bien passĂ©. maison en pierre spacieuse - oĂč il y fait frais par temps de canicule - dans laquelle il ne manque rien tant en ustensile qu'en aliment de premiĂšre nĂ©cessitĂ©. Merci au propriĂ©taire pour leur prĂ©venance. - idĂ©alement situĂ©e Ă  10 km au sud de Sarlat tous ces points sont trĂšs apprĂ©ciables.

Gut gelegen

Das Haus ist gut gelegen, in der NĂ€he der Hauptstraße, trotzdem ruhig. Kleiner Supermarkt und BĂ€ckerei fusslĂ€ufig. Kanuverleih in der NĂ€he. Das Haus ist in den Fels gebaut, so dass es nachts relativ kĂŒhl bleibt.

Fijne woning

De woning is gelegen in een dorpje voorzien van een kleine supermarkt, bakker en slager en ligt aan een rustig straatje waar geen verkeer doorheen gaat. Het huis is mooi gerenoveerd met behoudt van de oorspronkelijke details. Was voor ons even wennen, nadat we de weken ervoor in een modernere woning verbleven, maar we voelden ons snel thuis. Het terras onder de appelboom is heerlijk. Het huis zelf is van alle gemakken voorzien en zeer ruim. Het was erg warm tijdens ons verblijf, maar de muren houden de woning koel. En een duik in het vlakbij gelegen meer is ook heerlijk. La Table de Marais is een fijn plekje om 's avonds een keer te dineren. (vergeet ook Pirates du Perigord niet, bijzonder plekje) De woning is centraal gelegen en veel bezienswaardigheden - en dat zijn er veel - liggen op korte rijafstand. Een week was te kort om alles te kunnen zien en doen. Een tweetal verbeterpuntjes willen wij benoemen namelijk de mogelijkheid om in het huis afval te scheiden ontbreekt en het stapelbed sliep wel goed, maar voelde een beetje benauwd. Verder hebben wij heerlijk genoten en moeten wij zeker een keer terug komen om meer van de omgeving te kunnen ontdekken.

Perfect :-)

Un sĂ©jour superbe. Une maison authentique et chaleureuse, idĂ©alement placĂ©e. Un bon spot de dĂ©part, proche de Sarlat (15mn), Lascaux (30mn), Padirac (45mn), beaucoup de chĂąteaux Ă  quelques minutes seulement. Amoureux de la pierre et de la nature, vous ĂȘtes ici au bon endroit.

Charmante maison, idĂ©alement situĂ©e pour visiter la rĂ©gion, bien Ă©quipĂ©e : on s'y sent vite comme chez nous! L'accueil de Mme Rodriguez est trĂšs chaleureux et Mr Lubin est trĂšs agrĂ©ablement attentif! Petit bĂ©mol : les escaliers pour y accĂ©der qui ne sont mentionnĂ©s nulle part...cela peut ĂȘtre une surprise trĂšs gĂȘnante pour les personnes ĂągĂ©es ou ayant des soucis de santĂ© (plĂątre Ă  un membre infĂ©rieur, articulations douloureuses, fragilitĂ© cardiaque par ex).
