First we had to wait for a while before anyone came to the front desk to check us in; those poor girls work the shift all by themselves. She then told us the bar and restaurant were no longer open bc they had to let the bartender go. Guests were waiting in their wet bathing suits to get pool towels from the front desk bc there were none in the pool area. Our room, especially the bathroom, was gross. Peeling paint, leaking sink, and grody. They have not updated or renovated since the 70's, at least that is what it looked like. Don't plug your phone into the power strip behind the night stand; you will see years worth of filth and garbage. The ping-pong table in the pool atrium looks like it's something picked out of the garbage, with big chunks of particle board missing from it. Weekend included breakfast is from 6am to 9am, so there will be no sleeping in for guests. Our visit ended with the fire alarm going off, repeatedly, beginning at 9 a.m. We could not get out of there fast enough! The pool opens at 9am and supposedly closes at 10 pm but the screaming children were all out there by 8:30 am yelling at the top of their lungs waking up the entire hotel. Evidently this was fine with the hotel staff who did nothing. This place has great potential with the big indoor pool and play area, restaurant/bar space, and convenient location right off the freeway, but has been left to fall apart for many years, it's sad. Very disappointing experience.
